Things continue to intensify in Venezuela as Nicolas Maduro's people run over opposition protestors with armed vehicles and spray crowds with live ammunition. National Security Advisor John Bolton on Tuesday said "all options are on the table" as far as United States' intervention goes, The Hill reported.
We want as our principle objective the peaceful transfer of power, but I will say again as the president has said from the outset ... all options are on the table, Bolton said. "Over 40 people have been killed by the Maduro regime in the course of these protests."
The Western hemisphere recognizes Juan Guaidó as Venezuela's legitimate president, despite dictator Nicolas Maduro's continued reign.
We recognize Juan Guaidó as the legitimate interim president of Venezuela. And just as it's not a coup when the president of the United States gives an order to the Department of Defense, it's not a coup for Juan Guaidó to try and take command of the Venezuelan military.
According to Bolton, Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino; Venezuelas Supreme Tribunal of Justice President Maikel Moreno Pérez; and Venezuelas Directorate General of Military Counter-Intelligence Commander Ivan Rafael Hernandez Dala previously said Maduro needed to be ousted. They supported Guaidó as the country's replacement.
All agreed that Maduro had to go. They need to be able to act this afternoon or this evening to help bring other military forces to the side of the interim president, Bolton said. We think its still very important for key figures in the regime who have been talking to the opposition over these last three months to make good on their commitments to achieve the peaceful transfer of power."
The balance of power depends on Venezuelan's other top military leaders taking a firm stand in making sure Guaidó is put in power. This has been a top priority of the Trump administration.
Its a very delicate moment, Bolton said. I want to stress again that the president wants to see a peaceful transfer of power from Maduro to Guaidó. The possibility still exists if enough figures depart from the regime and support the opposition and thats what wed like to see.
Bolton is a neocon warmonger
I better get more hamburgers and jack daniels down to the cellar...
Its time to take TALKING off the table. If Maduro is not convinced to leave the Russians, Chinese and Cubans will see it as a sign of U.S. weakness. Talk is just talk. We need to demonstrate our unrelenting resolve to force him out.
Yes,John Bolton, regime change in Venezuala should be a top priority for American taxpayers.
Never mind about Americas borders, send troops to fix things in Venezuala
Talk is just talk. We need to demonstrate our unrelenting resolve to force him out.
Yes! Lets borrow money from China to finance an invasion of Venezuala. !!!!
All options except non-intervention, apparently.
I like the report that Maduro was about to leave but Russia talked him out of it.
NOW we can force him out AND tell Russia to go eff themselves.
If Maduro left and Russia stayed out of it, that would have been fine.
But by all indications - he’s on his way out, so Trump beats Russia.
+1
You first.
The SOB would go to war with Narnia if he could.
Why should we care about what happens in Venezuela?

Ya know what?
I’m kind of tired of fighting stupid, endles$ war$.
Especially those belonging to others.
The people are defenseless.
All options are on the table. Every administration has said the same thing for each and every "event".
Why should we care about what happens in Venezuela?

Are you serious? You like the idea of Russian naval and air bases in Cuba and Venezuela? Are you OK with Russian submarines routinely operating in the Carribean just a short missile flight away?
Iraq War - 16 years
Afghanistan War - 19 years
Venezuela - Lots of hills, tons and tons of jungle foilage
YUP, I THINK I’LL PASS
“steel_resolve”?
Are you enlisting for the regime-change war that you seem to want? How much will it cost? More or less than one of AOCs spending projects? Like conservatives ask her, where will the money come from? She cant or wont answer when asked; will you?
Not so much today, eh?
Tomorrow? Who knows?
