Bernie Sanders reaffirmed his stance on prison voting in an op-ed published Monday by USA Today. The 2020 presidential hopeful and current Vermont senator has vocally supported not just allowing those with prior felony convictions to cast their ballot, but those who are currently incarcerated as well.
"This should not devolve into a debate about whether certain people are 'good enough' to have the right to vote. Voting is not a privilege. It is a right," Sanders wrote.
"In my view, the crooks on Wall Street who caused the great recession of 2008 that hurt millions of Americans are not 'good' people. But they have the right to vote, and it should never be taken away."
"This is not a radical idea. Vermont and Maine allow inmates to vote and more than 30 nations including Israel, South Africa, and Canada also understand that voting rights for all citizens is a basic principle of democracy," Sanders wrote.

Presumably they should be able to run for office then too.
Bernie is evil. IMHO, the assertion that felonious prisoners should enjoy the right to vote is a malicious distortion of what the notion of liberty in this country is all about. When I was coming through school we were taught that with freedom comes responsibility. And that meant responsibility to be a moral, productive citizen that gives back to make our country better.
Of course, the radical commie Rats like POS Bernie are working overtime to destroy and revise the fundamental tenets of our nation. He is a congenital liar. Lying is a form of stealing to obtain that which other people would deny you otherwise . . . say their belief and support in this case. For that, Bernie and his accomplishes deserve an especially hot seat in hell for eternity.
What about the old rubric that once you have served your time, your debt to society is paid?
Sleep Joe, any comments?
“Zzzzzzz..”
Don’t forget about the Deceased. They ALWAYS vote for the Commies...err....democRATs.
...and even if you’re dead!
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) is having a rough week. A new poll by Morning Consult has him trailing former Vice President Joe Biden, fresh off his official entry into the Democratic primary, by 14 percentage points. Another poll of New Hampshire voters shows Sanders tied for second with South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg at 12 percent, with Biden leading the pack at 20 percent.
Both polls were conducted in the wake of Sanders' controversial proposal to extend voting rights to incarcerated felons, including murderers and terrorists such as Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The candidate has since doubled down on his position, saying he envisions a "vibrant democracy" in which even "terrible people" like Tsarnaev are allowed to participate in elections. ..."
Hoping that a heckler asks him why he’s not in Venezuela helping his failed socialist state
What about juries ?
Should prisoners in jail get to serve on juries ?
Even if they murder a Senator?

Dr Nields was the last witness for the prosecution before it rested its case on Monday.
Martins parents, Bill and Denise Richard, were also in court. They had been at the marathon finish line with their three children when Martin was killed and their daughter, Jane, lost a leg.
Cause of death was blast injuries to torso and extremities, Dr Nields said, adding that Martin died primarily from loss of blood.
Shrapnel - including small nails, plastic, pellets and wood - from one of the homemade pressure cooker bombs set off by Tsarnaev and his older brother had punched through the boys 69-pound body.
He suffered a six-inch-by-six-inch wound to his left abdomen, which exposed his intestines, and caused damage to his liver, left kidney, spleen and two ribs, Dr. Nields said.
There was also a perforation of his lower spine, Dr Nields said, indicating that shrapnel had passed through the childs body and exited through his back.

Should Sirhan Sirhan and Dylann Roof be allowed to vote, too? Asking for...well you know.
If felons can reinstate their right to vote they should also be allowed to reinstate their right to own guns. See how that flies Bernie voters.
He’s a Socialist. No doubt he’s anticipating a great many votes from career criminals.
I could get behind that, except most of those prisoners attacked conservative or republican politicians. Not that there is much difference between a “D” and “GOPe”.
Good point.
The minute the West decided to expand the vote outside of landed men, the Republic itself began to crumble irreparably. This would be yet another stick of TNT in a crumbling foundation.
