Fox News Channel dominated basic cable for the month of April, beating news, sports, and entertainment networks in total day and primetime viewers, while rival news channel CNN continued to shed its audience.
According to Nielsen Media Research, FNC garnered 2.4 million viewers in primetime and finished first among all basic cable stations for the third month in a row, and 1.4 million viewers in total day to top basic cable for the 34th consecutive month.
For the 208th month in a row, FNC also beat left-leaning CNN and MSNBC across both categories, while CNN marked its lowest-rated month in total day viewers since October 2015, and since August 2015 in the key demographic of viewers age 25-54.

Paging Soros ... CNN needs more money.
Love that graphic! :^)
Even Fox is sucking lately...it seems every time I turn them on they have some filthy democrat guest commentator. Then there’s Smith and Cavuto.
What??? People don’t want to get lectured by the likes of Don Lemon, Anderson Cooper, Chris Cuomo, Rachel Maddow, etc?
Not to mention Judge Swish.
“they have some filthy democrat guest commentator. Then theres Smith and Cavuto.”
That’s redundant.
A weak boast. Liberals have 2 choices to watch; conservatives have one.
CNN + MSNB = 2,427,000 viewers
FNC = 2,400,000 viewers
I watch F&F and I do like Shannon Bream in the evenings but that’s about all.
Rachel Maddow is clinically depressed since she was 12 years old. Just remember that next time she starts crying. Youre getting your commentary from someone who cant keep her sh*t together.

I’d love to see both CNN & MSNBC cash in their chips.
“I watch F&F and I do like Shannon Bream in the evenings but thats about all.”
I’m burnt out with the hosts on F&F weekdays, but I still watch F&F weekends. But if Hegseth puts much more gloop on his hair he will spontaneously combust.
I usually pay attention to Hemmer and Smith, but if either of them is off, the show suffers.
Weekend nights are pretty good: Watters, Levin, Pirro and that Brit expat whose name escapes me right now.
I also like Faulkner at 1-2 pm ET on weekdays.
I really wish a group of strong conservatives would start their own major network. Give FNC some competition for the conservative viewers. Maybe FNC would quit slipping towards the left then.
OAN is trying to become big but has been a slow climb for them thus far.
“OAN is trying to become big”
I love OAN, but when I heard the owner interviewed about a year ago, I didn’t get the impression he wanted the station to be big. He just wants the station to be good. I could be wrong, but that’s the impression I got.
How large a drop constitutes a 'plummet'?
Did not realize their plans, thanks. Hope they remain a very good alternative for conservatives for years to come.
I do wish FNC had a major competitor for conservative viewers though. Of course, I wish the same thing for newspapers in this country.
Yes, that would be ideal.
OAN has got a long ways to go but they’re giving it a shot.
It has to take a phenomenal amount of money to try to compete with established cable networks.
CNN is like all liberal entities — San Francisco, for example. No matter how bad things get, they won’t change and try to improve.
All CNN has to do to improve its ratings is to do a better job than its liberal competitor, MSNBC, so that it can attract some of MSNBC’s viewers. But it doesn’t even seem to try.
For example, to attract some of Rachel Maddow’s viewers, CNN should hire Pete Buttigieg as an anchor once he drops out of the presidential race and schedule his show opposite Rachel’s. Pete already has millions of supporters. But will CNN try for such a ratings improvement? Probably not.
