Juan Grant, a close family friend of Freddie Grays who led protests in front of the Western District police station demanding answers after Grays death from injuries suffered in police custody in 2015, was shot to death in West Baltimore Saturday, his family said.
Grant, whose brother had a child with Grays twin sister, was best friends with Gray and considered the two brothers-in-law. As tensions rose in the days after the 25-year-old died of spinal cord injuries following his arrest four years ago near Gilmor Homes, Grant returned daily to the police station and met with then-Police Commissioner Anthony Batts and then-Deputy Commissioner Kevin Davis, desperate for information. He was trying to make a difference in his own way, said Frederina Grant, his grandmother. He was determined that he was going to march and have people march with him to find out what happened.
Detectives told Frederina the 33-year-old had been driving back to his grandmothers Westwood Avenue home about 8 p.m. Saturday after dropping off a cousin who had done work on her house when his black Cadillac collided with a dirt bike in the 1800 block of N. Payson St., his grandmother said. He got out of the car, she said. I dont know whether it was to confront this person or to see if this person was OK. Whoever it was just shot him, Frederina Grant said. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead with gunshot wounds to the head.

That’s priceless.
Funny you should mention dirt bikes in the city. Saw a group of about 10 , riding dirt bikes and atvs, they were riding in and out of traffic, on sidewalks, no cops in sight. Two of three lanes were closed off due to replacement of a mater main, so there are barrels, , signs, etc, The riders were weaving in and out, ah, just a day in the hood. This was yesterday, in Norfolk, Va.
Memo to self: AVOID Baltimore.
They are now in the streets of Albay, NY, the capital of Andy's Cuomo's hellhole.
Albany, NY
That’s sad.
Juan juent away.
Surely, you gist.
Having trouble finding the address, I caught a Black cop in McDonalds having breakfast. I showed him the address and he said "Son, I'm Black and have a gun and I wouldn't go there." I told him I didn't have a choice, I was taking care of one of my soldiers the only way I knew how. He gave me directions and did not offer an escort.
The grandparents were waiting on their front stoop. They ran to my car, jumped in and before I could introduce myself both said "DRIVE!"
He survived and I bought them a bus ticket home.
Wow, that is sad. Good on you for helping, though.
On the way home, he posted a video on his Facebook story of himself behind the wheel, singing and rapping along to Rich Homie Quans Aint Worried.
Maybe he should have been paying attention to driving?
Did he have a license or insurance?
I’m still trying to figure out how Freddy Gray
led a parade after his death...
It is sad that a level of information we need as citizens will not be provided by the government or media, and we are left to fend for ourselves and we end up ridiculing it the same way Soviet citizens would surreptitiously ridicule the lies and deception of their own government.
Hence, we have to employ our own translators. When we see “teens” or “youths”, the deliberate exclusion of race often forces us to conclude that deliberate omission was for a specific reason.
I will bet in the last 10-20 years, if you did a LexisNexis search on “Amish” for the past 20 years, the mention of the word in the context of a crime has skyrocketed.
I know. And the people who advocate this false, racially based view of murder such as the Black Lives Matter people and the Democrat Party in general are the very people standing in the way of solutions to it.
It is simply a political tool to them, and with each death of a black person at the hands of another black person, that blood is on the hands of people who foment this victim-based outlook.
Baltimore today is post-apocalyptic.
Nobody gives a sh*t, unless, of course, someone claims victimhood, which means 15 minutes of national TV, soon forgotten except for an occasional, mostly ignored postscript like this one.
Meanwhile, half the city are victims of left-ocide.
I lived there, next to the current war zone, in the 80s when the city had a chance. I’m sickened by what the left has done to this city. So sad.
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
Wow! That’s quite a story.
Thank you for your service.
