A booster seat is for positioning the safety belt. Redesign the damn safety belt so it can be positioned properly.

OR make the back seat rise to a proper height.

It is an issue. Seat belts don’t hit me right . If I crash it will probably snap my neck or choke me if I am wearing it.

Lots of Filipinos in WA State, as you’d expect in a west coast state, but at least in eastern WA, LE is ignoring pretty much all of the new laws, especially gun control.

We went to a Catholic church north of Seattle on Easter, and I’d day it was 60% Filipino. It’s a fairly traditional church, which might attract them from outside the parish.

Airline seats should work perfectly for people that size.

Lots of small cars already seem optimized for the under 5 foot crowd and won’t have room for a booster the same size as existing back seat.

I don’t suppose they talked to any auto makers before passing this law.

I guess there are a lot of members of Rush’s
Keeping Our Own Kids Safe chapters in WA.

Jeez, I would have bee suck in a booster seat in my freshman year. How humiliating.

Washington? Perhaps these car-seat kids will be able to vote.

California's law is "children must be seated in the rear seat of a vehicle in an appropriate car seat or booster seat until they are 8 years old or 4’9″ tall."

When my kids were in nursery school and elementary school, I'd drive a carload of kids on field trips and none were in car seats or booster seats. I guess there are no parent-driven field trips for 8-and-under kids.

Washing state is trying to prove they are more screwed up than NY or California.

I have a Chinese friend who lives in Portland.
When they passed this for Oregon, I asked her if she needed a special car seat.
It didn’t go well.

My oldest is still living in Washington State until this May. She’s a doctor and her DL says she is 4’10” when we all know she is 4’9 1/2” tall. She was under 4’9” until at least 16 years old then she grew a little more. I am 5’8” and my sisters are 5’11” and 6’1 1/2” have no idea where she come from lol...

The Democrats will mandate child built in car seats. They should put that on their platform. Volvo and Acura make a pretty comfortable seat.

My wife is 4ft 8 inches. I would like to see them trying to put her in a car seat.

I was 4’10” when I started 10th grade, 6’2” when I graduated. Those were painful years … kept hitting my head on things that I previously walked under. I literally would have been in a car seat until I started high school with these laws. Instead I rode around in the back of pickup trucks :p

That’s a whole lot of late growth there. I can recall wondering if I would have to ride horses for a living, and I don’t much like horses.

I was around that same size growing up, but I stopped at 5’7”. Just not in the cards I guess

You just never know. My mother and father were both around 5’8”, so it could have gone either way for me.

This is totally rediculous! People will obviously just not pay attention to it. Washington state is becoming a laughing stock to the rest of the country with stupid stuff like this.
