My middle class tax cut was a massive tax hike. Thanks Mr. President! Long standing deductions were capped or made illegal. The personal exemption was eliminated. It was a Corporate Tax Cut, which is permanent.
I thought the democrats were trying to sell them as unfunded.
I don’t remember any talk of income neutral, that didn’t address the expected economic activity and eventual increased revenues they would spark.
The tax cuts could have been passed to cut taxes from here on out. These have an actual expiration date.
It is true that taxes could be raised too (thus making these temporary), but that would take a deliberate act on the part of the Legislative and the Executive Branches of government.
