Miguel Angel Magallon, who was convicted of killing Los Angeles County Office of Public Safety Capt. Michael Sparkes in 2004, was found unresponsive in his cell at 6:17 a.m. Saturday and was pronounced dead at 6:49 a.m., Lt. Sam Robinson said.
Magallon, 35, was sentenced to death on Oct. 15, 2009, and had been on death row since Oct. 26, 2009. An autopsy will be conducted to determine his cause of death.
Since 1978, 79 condemned inmates have died from natural causes, 26 have committed suicide, 13 were executed in California and 11 have died of other causes. ***
Last month, Gov. Gavin Newsom signed an executive order effectively ending the death penalty in California, at least during his time in office.

Found dead in his cell? Well, that was mighty considerate of him. Saved the state a great deal of expense.

We should allow them to off themselves out of shame. In Japan it’s honorable.

Watch his relatives sue (AND WIN) for the money it would have cost to keep him for the 35+ years he probably would have lived on OUR DIME...

Ten years on death row.
The suspense was killing him.
Making someone wait that long to carry out a lawful execution is cruel and unusual punishment... to someone. Maybe the perp... maybe the victim’s family.

No hurry on that.
In spite of the governor’s attempts, being on death row in California does not confer true immortality on anyone.

Happy to say that Miguel is NOT with the Angels despite his name.
However, I would have preferred that he serve out his term (sarc) and that the insane Gov. Newsome had been taken in his place.
Cue the earthquake under the Governor’s Mansion on 5.

Oh goody, another vote for Bernie in 2020. Or will it be two votes? One for being in prison and one for being dead.
