On Thursday, Paris police investigators said they think an electrical short-circuit most likely caused the fire.
The Parisien newspaper has reported that investigators are considering whether the fire could be linked to a computer glitch or related to temporary elevators used in the renovation that was underway at the time the cathedral caught fire. Chauvet said there were fire alarms throughout the building, which he described as well protected.
Charlotte Hubert, president of a group of French architects who specialize in historic monuments, told BFM television that experts plan to spread a custom-made peaked tarpaulin across the cathedrals roof, with enough space to also shield workers rebuilding the frame.

I thought that most of 'em were named Mohammed.
Great photo of the roof area! Look at this video and at 1:13 minutes in you will see similar wooden walkways in another roof area of the Cathedral. Or some upper area of the same. Lots of good kindling there, especially if take apart some of the wooden railing and assemble into a campfire
THIS VIDEO -— https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TChw7NyOn8E SAME WOODEN WALKWAYS ARE SEEN.

and who are not into the Death to the infidel business.”
If they permit the crazies to live among them they are in fact in the death to infidels business. And that is exactly what they do.
> I myself, do not buy into the cheese-eating surrender monkies view of the French. <
Neither do I. The French showed great bravery at Verdun in 1916 and during the evacuation of Dunkirk in 1940. The Verdun story is well known. The Dunkirk story much less so.
But I must respectfully disagree with your view of “moderate” Muslims. Studies have shown that even many moderate Muslims believe that death is the appropriate punishment for those who slander Islam, draw a picture of Mohammed, deface the Koran, etc.
And younger Muslims have even more radical views. A study out of the UK (link below) shows that 36% of younger UK Muslims believe that anyone who leaves their faith should be killed. More than 1 out of 3. That is astonishing.
I wish it were not so. But Islam is a death cult. Can the “moderates” reform it? Not if they believe in the death penalty for religious offenses.

I was supposed to go to Afghanistan with the Peace Corps in 1969. We were trained back then, that the one guy that would do anything to thwart our efforts was the local mullah. Whether it was vaccinating against small pox, teaching English in the schools, or digging a well for clean water, he’d fight us tooth and nail. He was the leader of the local crazies. Most Afghans pretty much welcomed our efforts, but they knew not to cross him. Bad things happened to people who crossed him. It is still the same today in Afghanistan and for that matter the banlieues of Paris.

If you had asked a 17th-century English Christian about what do do with witches (after you’d weighed them against a duck) he could quote the Bible, not to suffer a witch to live. But most Englishmen of the time spent their time worrying about getting the crop in and not contracting the sweating disease rather than witches in their presence.
> If a reporter or researcher asks a moderate muslim the question, Im sure he or she will answer as the Koran instructs <
I would have thought just the opposite: That the “moderate” Muslim in the West would tend to hide his true feelings. Like if you asked a racist if he’s a racist...he’d probably say no.
Anyhow, I hope I’m wrong. Because if I’m right there’s trouble ahead.

Pam Geller to the rescue. A wonderful woman, btw, who I wish I had gotten to know better.
I didn’t know that, nutmeg. Expect France to hide the connection.
The level at which they allow the crazies to function, and in the name of their religion no less is far beyond your mafia comparison. The mob knows enough to keep it local and manageable and personal. The mob actually fears going too far. Our foundING fathers went up against the most powerful force in history at that time. THAT is the American way. In fact the entire first paragraph of your response makes the point that they are not freedom loving Americans. They are cowed dogs who run from the hell holes their own cowardice permits and they bring their squalid war religion to destroy the place they settle. Islam is effectively a religion of crazies.
Pam is fantastic, and very courageous. My husband and I met her briefly at CPAC a few years ago (2012 or so). She and Robert Spencer hosted an interesting and frightening presentation about Jihad around the world, etc. After it ended, we got to chat with both Pam and Robert for a few minutes. We could quickly tell how extremely devoted to spreading the *truth* about Islamic terror across the globe they are.
Of course both Pam and Robert are labeled Islamophobes by the media and leftists... and both require body guards 24/7, last I heard.
My experiences with Pam are that she is a really nice woman - very warm and friendly to people who come to her events. She always brings good food to her events, too! Very brave and it is a disgrace that she was banned in Britain as was Robert Spencer (who I never met).
