They do permit the crazies to live amongst them, I’ll agree. But if the crazies are I’ll-cut-your-family’s heads-off crazy, I think I understand their being quiet. Not unlike living in a mob-controlled town or gang-controlled neighborhood. You may not like it, you may in fact disapprove, but you’re not going to look for trouble. If the crazies were 1/2 of 1% maybe you speak out, but at 10% there are just too many crazies.

I was supposed to go to Afghanistan with the Peace Corps in 1969. We were trained back then, that the one guy that would do anything to thwart our efforts was the local mullah. Whether it was vaccinating against small pox, teaching English in the schools, or digging a well for clean water, he’d fight us tooth and nail. He was the leader of the local crazies. Most Afghans pretty much welcomed our efforts, but they knew not to cross him. Bad things happened to people who crossed him. It is still the same today in Afghanistan and for that matter the banlieues of Paris.

The level at which they allow the crazies to function, and in the name of their religion no less is far beyond your mafia comparison. The mob knows enough to keep it local and manageable and personal. The mob actually fears going too far. Our foundING fathers went up against the most powerful force in history at that time. THAT is the American way. In fact the entire first paragraph of your response makes the point that they are not freedom loving Americans. They are cowed dogs who run from the hell holes their own cowardice permits and they bring their squalid war religion to destroy the place they settle. Islam is effectively a religion of crazies.
