- The young woman above is almost certainly one of the minority of Americans that believes owning a gun is immoral. A recent Rassmussen poll revealed that 20% of registered voters in the United States believe owning a gun is immoral. From jacksonville.com:
Beyond specific issues, the attitudes being voiced by many progressive Democrats seem almost designed specifically to antagonize Midwestern voters. Twenty percent of all voters consider owning a gun immoral, and 20% believe it is immoral to call for limits on government. Eleven percent think eating meat and having children are also immoral.
The specific Rassmussen poll was taken on 23-24 March 2019, at scottrasmussen.com.
In the poll, 9% thought owning a gun was very immoral. 11% thought owning a gun was somewhat immoral. 15% thought it was not very immoral, and 58% thought it was not at all immoral.
The poll was of registered voters, which is helpful. It would be interesting to know what the numbers would be of likely or actual voters.
It is not surprising that a very similar number thought to limit government was immoral.
9% thought it was very immoral; and 11% thought it was somewhat immoral, with 53% saying it was not immoral at all.
This poll reinforces the idea there is a significant overlap between those who do not want any limits on government and those who oppose people owning firearms.
Those who think it immoral to own firearms are about evenly split between men and women, with a few more men than women.

In all fairness, according to the Standard Deviation Curve, the Bell-Shaped Curve, half of all Americans have below average mental health.
~17% of Americans fail at mental health. These are likely of the 20% who are terrified of guns either in general or because they fear using a gun to harm themselves or others.
For the most part they are phobic or neurotic, or both.
I agree that no-one should own a gun. You should have at least 3-5, for starters.

With lefties, that’s the catch. Situation ethics. Which is basically saying that morality is decided on a case by case basis, i.e. there are no consistent rights and wrongs that are always true regardless of who is doing it and when they are doing it.
Progressives determine morality to be whatever suits their agenda at any given time. Moral two years ago, immoral now & vice versa. The only consistency is that the current morality benefits them over others. Moral for them, immoral for others.
Like dealing with millions of Red Queens a la Lewis Carroll.

It also seems to say that all voters are ignorant, with 20% of them saying guns are immoral.

Well, 20% of me, in addition to the other 80% of me, thinks that gun control is immoral, if not outright evil. So, I guess we’re even.
In other words, liberals appoint themselves as the gods -- the deities -- of the society, and their judgment, or more accurately, their self-serving whims, create the "morality" on which their paltry civilizations rest.

The word "liberal" was stolen from classical liberals. It was based on freedom from coercion in a political sense.
Progressive is a more correct term, because their philosophy has been expounded in numerous texts. It is fairly easy to find out.
You are exactly correct, however, that Progressives see themselves as god on earth. One of the foundations of the philosophy is there is no God, or at least, God does not care about what humans do.
I saw another that said “ bearded, tattooed,chubby gun owner. Get over it.”
