Conservative commentator Ann Coulter said she could support Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-VT, in 2020 and even floated the idea of working in his administration if he returned to his earlier stance on immigration.
In a preview clip of PBSs Firing Line with Margaret Hoover released Wednesday, host Margaret Hoover asked Coulter how she viewed the progressive senator. She asked whether she would support him if he campaign on getting rid of low-skilled workers to ensure higher wages.
If he went back to his original position, which is the pro-blue-collar position. I mean, it totally makes sense with him," she said. If he went back to that position, Id vote for him. I might work for him. I dont care about the rest of the socialist stuff. Just-- can we do something for ordinary Americans?
Coulter was apparently referencing Sanders policy position from 2007 where he opposed an immigration reform bill that he feared would drive down wages for lower-income workers. He co-authored a restrictive immigration amendment with Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-IA. The bill ultimately failed to pass the Senate.

anorexia and low blood sugar is a deadly combination...
I don’t think a lot of the posters actually read what she said.
> She is illustrating that Trump could lose the high ground on his big issue. <
Bingo. Her method here is odd, to say the least. But she is - once again - focusing on the problem of illegal immigration.
A socialist country like the UK has higher wage growth than the USA...
Be interesting to know their tax rate for worker bees. If higher than US, or less progressive rates, then their gov may take in significantly more from higher median wages than here, making higher wages more enticing to gov...
This graph is misleading without proper context. Wage suppression has occured mostly due to the influx of cheap -- I call it modern slave -- labor. Well paying jobs that used to be held by Americans are now being off-loaded to the slave class. This also accounts for the difference between the Productivity line and the Compensation line. No one discounts that illegal immigrant labor is productive -- many work harder than the average American. But with tens of millions doing productive work for far less money, the result is what you see.
Proof she was a Prog the whole time. Which is odd, because she apparently got on the Trump bandwagon to make money.
“Every time I look at her on TV she seems to have a prominent Adams Apple.”
Its just the anorexia. You can see her ribs and spinal vertebrae as well.
The graph PROVES your point.
Does Hannity still have her on his show?
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
My folks watch Hannity every night - I hear a lot of it (volume up so loud - they’re elderly) & occasionally tune in myself. I do not remember the last time she was on Hannity. His “favorites” these days are SERIOUS people like Sara Carter, John Soloman, Joe DiGenova & Victoria Toensing, Tammy Bruce, Greg Jarrett, Dan Bongino, etc.
Coulter has jumped the shark .... no longer a ‘serious’ person worth listening to, IMO.
Conservatives must not be buying her books and she needs a new audience.
Ignore her at your own peril.
Fanbase here? Perish the thought. With full disclosure, I once admired her fighting spirit in the cause of conservatism but not since she’s gone full-throated anti-Trump.
Duly noted.
Yes, but this is not a socialist vs capitalist construct. Remember, after true socialism takes hold, ALL wages are artificially suppressed. ALL workers under true socialism (and into communism) become slaves.
Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your support for socialism (it seems you are advocating it in some way).
> I dont think a lot of the posters actually read what she said. <
Yep. Below is a Bernie quote from the article. It makes sense. And it would also make sense for Coulter to give Bernie credit for saying it.
What we need is comprehensive immigration reform. If you open the borders, my God, there’s a lot of poverty in this world, and you’re going to have people from all over the world. And I don’t think that’s something that we can do at this point. Can’t do it. So that is not my position, Sanders said.
I think what Ann is saying that wages have to go up even if it is a socialist at the helm. I am not ready to go that far but SHE HAS A POINT.
Republicans think people that work for wages are losers. That is the bottom line. I learned that here.
Namely, the old school, labor union Democrats were much less malignant than today's Social Justice Warriors/Antifa who want open borders and an outright race war waged against whites (at least the straight white males). The trouble for Bernie's old school class war rhetoric (and for Coulter) is that his base is mostly made up of these SJWs, so if he wants to keep that base of support, he'd better get on board their program - open borders, reparations, the whole nine yards.
Shes definitely going through The Change.
