A killer germ is raging through some New York hospitals and nursing homes. But public health officials are deliberately keeping the public in the dark about it.
New York state is ground zero for this germ, called Candida auris. Over half the nearly 600 cases nationwide are right here, mostly in New York City. New Jersey hospitals are also hard hit, with more than 100 cases so far. A staggering 45 percent of patients who get it die within 90 days.
Its especially dangerous because once it gets inside a hospital, it spreads. Patients with Candida auris shed it from their skin, putting everyone around them at risk. It also clings to privacy curtains, mattresses and bedrails, walls and ceilings, and it can live there for weeks. Routine cleaning cant remove it. You dont want to be assigned to a hospital room where a previous patient had this germ.
Candida auris also travels through the hospital on thermometers and blood-pressure cuffs used on one patient after another.
How can you avoid these dangers? Secrecy makes it hard.

The "consumer protection" movement was mostly pushed by female politicians of the time, and was adopted virtually without opposition.
“A deadly infection is sweeping some NY hospitals but health officials wont say where”
Manhattan?
I’m reminded of Appleby’s response to Hacker: socialized medicine makes it possible for anyone to get a bad doctor.
Illegal aliens!!
I wonder how many local NYC TV stations will rush to do their “Eye On Your Side” and “Channel 11 Investigates” stories uncovering the real truth of this story for the “consumers” of “medical care services” in the “tri-state area.”
could not have come in, weaponized, on criminal illegals,
right?
they are pure, innocent, and all ‘children’, right?
even those with strange tatoos on their 50yo faces,
and the ones from Iran.
NYC is home to some of the world’s finest hospitals...hospitals that one would think would know a thing or two about infection control.
They’re only afraid of the measles.
Open the border, in invite in the vermin, swarms and plagues.
It’s not just in NY.
A Mysterious Infection, Spanning the Globe in a Climate of Secrecy
The rise of Candida auris embodies a serious and growing public health threat: drug-resistant germs.

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.
An ignorant prol is a happy prol...
“...the “consumer protection” laws of the 1970s and ‘80s...”
You can be that each and every one of them has exceptions to please the Medical-Industrial Complex.
NY helped to contribute to the worldwide spread of the 1918 swine flu that killed so many. Ship troop transports came into the harbor. The bigwigs on the ship always ask if there are problems healthwise, they were told no so the sailors were given leave.
Come to find out, NY was infested with that flu, never told anyone, and as the ship headed back yo england full of troops, they got sick. The flu was spread to England...
The specific ship I refer to was the USS Leviathan.
Brought to you by the folks from Shitholia.
Sue quickly if you get it.
So just to get this straight, If, say for instance a fast food chain was “secretly” known by officials such as mayor big bird, for a rash of food borne illnesses, it would be acceptable not to inform the public? After all, who would dine at a fast food chain known for the spread of food borne illnesses. And if fifty percent of restaurants in NY city was known to have unsanitary conditions, what would that do to the business of commerce and tourism?
My mother in law has been in the hospital for two weeks with s mysterious malady that has been misdiagnosed at least 4 times. Shes on intravenous antibiotics, big ones. First it was sepsis, then bad flu, then kidney/uti. Now its superbug. Apparently this superbug has super powers of invisibility because they STILL havent given a correct diagnosis.
So what exactly are the symptoms and what is it and what does it do?
