The administration won’t say why they decided now to charge Assange with a single count of computer intrusion conspiracy that dates to 2010. Back then, WikiLeaks is alleged to have helped Chelsea Manning, then a U.S. Army intelligence analyst, crack a password that gave her higher-level access to classified computer networks.

Chelsea Manning . Once a him, now a her. I for one would like to see this stated that way. Alternatively give his former name and now name so people understand this is not a natural born “ women”

If you want to make this choice, so be it, that’s you right. I’ll honor that, but don’t do a kabuki theater on me about your past.....

The decision to seek the extradition of Julian Assange marked a dramatic new approach to the founder of WikiLeaks by the U.S. government...

AP thinks Trump should have continued to mismanage the Government by continuing the policies of Obola.

Why waste time with Assange when Comey, Strzok, Page, Clapper, Yates, Ohr, and unamed co-conspirators are at the head of the line? Assanage is a waste of time and a distraction.

I doubt the US will win in getting Assuage extradited to the US....Assauge can keep this going in the courts for years. He’s Australian as well, and no doubt he knows quite well how the US operates going after ‘their man’ legally and otherwise to put up a fierce enough fight.

I cannot get past the point that Assange published stuff that compromised sources and endangered our troops. He is a hacker more than a journalist IMO.

OTOH - how is what he did (publishing material) any different than what the NYT and other media outlets did with classified information here in the U.S.?

It will be an interesting legal case.

Cyberespionage tools indeed. It was a set of tools designed to make a computer hack look like it came from a nation that did not do it. This is like a cop planting cocaine in someone’s back seat. There is no legitimate purpose for this.

“western values” my foot Pompeo. Is it western values to spy on every american’s phone calls , emails and text without probable cause. Assange is an American Hero. We will put millions in the streets supporting this great man. We dont care if he published truth that DNC emails showed they screwed Bernie Sanders. Where is the crime in that? This bogus hacking charge will be thrown out in England!! What then Pompeo?

Actually, what our Executive branch wants is to get him under our cover, protect him, and pump him for the ways we can undercut socialism and Islamic terrorism. What he devised was a system that could give whistle-blowes a vent without compromising their lives or ways to make a living. IMHO

Ok, then we should extradite Obama and Hillary to Egypt to face terrorism charges.

So, it’s not currently about the Hillary emails and Russia. Assange is the route to Manning, the treasonous soldier that needs to be tried on separate charges, convicted and executed.

Manning is to be the executed example of what happens to miltary traitors who divulge secrets and especially wholesale secrets.

Not indicting Assange for the DNC or Podesta leaks is telling.

Now lets see if the British government lets him be extradited.

Because Assange had all kinds of poo on the FBI, Justice and intel, Obama and Clinton, and others. He was blackmailing them just like he was the Ecuadorians. When Barr announced that there was a new sheriff in town, he knew he couldn’t blackmail the rats any longer, so Trump pulled the lever on him.. My theory.

I hope that Julian has secreted his entire story in several different places so that we are able to find out the truth after he is “Suicided.”

There are a lot of Inside the Evil Beltway folks who CANNOT allow his story to be told.
