White House on lockdown: Man ‘sets himself on fire’ - Secret Service scrambled

THE WHITE House is in lockdown after a man attempted to set himself on fire, a New York Times reporter has claimed.
Photos taken at the scene show security personnel tackling a person on the ground. Police and amublance crews are in attendance.
Nicholas Kristof, a columnist with the New York Times, said: “Someone apparently set himself on fire in front of the White House just now. I was coming out of the West Wing, and the Sevret Service isn’t letting anyone out onto Pennsylvania Ave. They say there are also suspicious packages.
“The whole area in front of the White House is now secured. Nobody coming in, and we aren’t allowed out.”
The Secret Service said on Twitter: “ALERT: Secret Service personnel are responding to a police/medical incident on Pennsylvania Ave. along the @WhiteHouse North Fence Line.”

Was self-immolation in protest the goal, or was it a puff on the crack pipe gone horribly wrong?
I heard on the news that his jacket caught fire, but he wasn’t badly injured enough to go to the hospital, and was arrested instead.
People seriously bent on making a statement through self-immolation soak themselves in an accelerant, usually gasoline.
