Trump threatens to impose $11 billion in tariffs on European Union products
Financial World ^ | 4-11 | Soarav D

Amid an ongoing tariff conflict with China and a retaliatory tariff dispute with Mexico and Canada on wide-ranging issues between plumbing to steel tariffs, US President Donald Trump had set off another set of rivalry and a new front of his trade war against European Union by imposing a tit-for-tat tariffs worth of $11 billion of EU products, raising tensions over a long-running transatlantic aircraft battle.

Please note I am not familiar with this source. They seem professional, but the site says .org, rather than .com, and the author apparently does not use their full name, for some reason.

That said, the post is not really what I was focused in here, but just to note that.

Ok. I am all for defending Boeing against Airbus.

All for that.

But President Trump, we really, really, really have completely sold out to China. For real.

That really matters. Both political parties have been 100% sold out to China for more than the entire last GENERATION.

Both parties. Democrats, and Republicans both.

For the last GENERATION.

I understand we are "talking".

Meanwhile, we are completely sold out to China. The worst recorded trade deficit, in all recorded human history, between any two nations, ever.

Ever.

Just last year.

Do something about that.

You promised...

Really. You did. It was, in my humble opinion, why you won.

Agree totally. Between China+Japan+S.Korea, the total trade deficit is obscene and the real reason middle class manufacturing jobs have vanished.

Balanced trade -or- no trade!

Never thought I'd like tariffs, but the way Trump has employed them seems to be effective... and I am starting to despise the EU anyway.

Oh and gee... the economy hasn't come to an end. In fact it's better than ever.

Who was it that was telling us we couldn't have a strong dollar and good economy at the same time? Despite the fact that we have always had a strong dollar and good economies until the globaloids got their hands into everything over the last few decades.

I called some third world asian ####s to report lost credit card and to replace it with a new numbered card.

They just CANCELLED the card FOR GOOD with no way of turning it back on or replacing it.

They said “We rearry aporogize”

My wife and I have 2 credit cards from Capital One but for some reason have 2 different numbers!

She uses the card for shopping and restaurants, I use it for gas, and paying phone bills etc on line. We get a common combined bill every month. Both of us never use our cards at the same merchant.

6 weeks ago, I had 2 fraud charges on my card from NY state, and I reported them pronto. I get text alerts on my phone of every charge, so I see all charges instantly on my phone. Exactly 1 week later my wife’s card had those exact amount 2 charges from the same gas station in NY!

The CS is in Philippines. They of course reimbursed us for the fraudulent charges but had no explanation how both our cards got hacked, since we never use it at the same merchant. I had hard time understanding them on phone and they had no valid explanation.

Obviously it was an inside job at the credit card processors.

Still a broken record on that when the evidence says otherwise, I see. Don’t deny the evidence. And don’t hijack your own thread.

I know Trump is the right President.

I know Leithauser is the right trade representative.

Both of them, are 100% up for the job. 100%.

However. EVERY ONE ELSE in business and government...

I am not sure about.

There are a BUNCH of people who should know better, who are COMPLETELY sold out.

A bunch.

Trump wrote in a tweet on Tuesday, the 9th of April 2019, “The World Trade Organization finds that the European Union subsidies to Airbus has adversely impacted the United States, which will now put Tariffs on $11 Billion of EU products!

Took a quick look at Real Donald Trump Twitter feed and didn't see any such tweet. Probably fake news.
