Washington (CNN)A federal grand jury on Thursday indicted Greg Craig, a prominent Democratic attorney who worked for two presidents, charging him with false statements and concealing material information in connection with work he performed for Ukraine. An indictment in the case against Craig, which originated in special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, has been expected for several weeks, with Craig's own lawyers saying Wednesday they anticipated such an outcome. Craig, 74, is the highest-profile Democrat to be indicted in a matter stemming from Mueller's work, which resulted in charges against numerous Republicans connected to President Donald Trump. The case is being handled by the US Attorney's office for the District of Columbia in connection with the Justice Department's national security division. The case is likely to bring renewed attention to the Justice Department's application of a once-obscure law applying to unregistered foreign agents.

Craig left the Obama White House in January 2010, and did the Ukrainian work in 2012.

Tony Podesta and Vin Weber may also be in trouble for this work.

Here is some more from Wikipedia: “In April 2018, Craig resigned from the firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, following the indictment of Alex van der Zwaan, a lawyer at the firm’s London office. Craig was the lead attorney supervising the firm’s work for former Ukrainian president Yanukovich, in which Zwann participated. Zwaan was later charged by Mueller investigation and pleaded guilty to making false statements. Later in 2018, NBC and CNN reported that following a referral from Mueller’s office, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York was investigating Craig and others, including ex-lobbyist Tony Podesta and former Republican U.S. Representative Vin Weber, as part of a broader investigation into the activities of Paul Manafort.”

“WH Counsel knows everything....................”

I would love to see some of Obama’s cronies declaring that their work with Craig was attorney/client privilege.

Attorney-Client Privilege is exactly that: a privilege.

It does not extend to illegal activity in any way, shape or form..................

Hillary claimed her Chief of Staff, Cheryl Mills, was also her attorney, so that their communications were ‘protected’. They aren’t. Illegal activity is not protected by Attorney-Client Privilege. Hillary is a lousy lawyer.................

We will see if the DOJ goes after him with as much brutality as they went after Manafort for the same charge. I have my doubts. Note that Mueller sent Trump campaign adviser and Manafort crony Rick Gates to the US Attorney in DC for similar charges just a couple weeks ago...

Didn’t Greg Craig go to Cuba and met with Fidel after Elian was sent back home to the Island Prison? I believe that Craig was Elian’s father’s lawyer.

You think they are actually going to report this?

Hey, maybe they will, but they’ll report it in a way that makes people think he was a DJT White House official.

Never let a crisis go to waste, right?
