Gray testified under oath about the children and recommended they be placed in foster care. In a ruling stripping the parents of their rights, Judge Gregg Rosenblatt credited Grays testimony as very credible, unbiased and persuasive.
But criminal affidavits signed by Division of Criminal Investigation agent Scott Reger outline how Gray allegedly committed perjury.
She testified at the hearing that she had spoken with their teachers about academic and social concerns they were exhibiting at school. In reality, she later admitted that she had not spoken to teachers and had only received some emails that were forwarded from their foster mother, Reger wrote.
That was a mistake, Gray allegedly said.
Gray also admitted that she falsely testified that she saw the children at least once per month in their foster home as required by Iowa code, the affidavit said. In addition, she testified that she would recommend a foster care placement keeping all four children in the same home when she had been discussing a plan to separate three boys from their sister, it said.
Gray did not immediately return a message, and it wasnt clear if she had a defense attorney.
An assistant Cero Gordo county attorney who represented the state in the child removal case discovered several discrepancies in Grays testimony a year ago and notified the court. In response to the discovery, Judge Adam Sauer overturned Rosenblatts ruling last June and dismissed the states petitions to terminate parental rights. Sauer said that Grays lies and misrepresentations were material to the case and tainted the outcome.
Providing false testimony of any kind is an unfathomable violation of the trust that the people in the State of Iowa place in their public servants and cast a dark and permanent shadow upon all of us, he wrote.
Despite the ruling, Gray continued to work for DHS. She voluntarily resigned in September only after The Associated Press inquired about her job status and wasnt forced to do so, the agency has said. State and county officials launched a criminal perjury investigation after the AP reported on Sauers ruling in October. The agency has refused to release a review of Grays other cases that it conducted last year.
DHS spokesman Matt Highland said Tuesday that the agency does not tolerate false information being submitted to the court.
The Department works closely with law enforcement and county attorney offices as appropriate. The process worked as it should, he said.
Critics of DHS, including family advocate Nancy Augustine, have long contended that the agency is too aggressive in removing children from parents and allows social workers to twist facts without consequence. They welcomed the case against Gray, which is believed to be the first perjury charge against a DHS worker since 2007.
Firing squad.
Hubby’s ex-shrew is a CPS worker. She’s the worst mother I’ve ever personally met. She never once parented the children but is still allowing them to run feral/truant, etc.. no training, discipline, guidance whatsoever.
That judge needs to go as well. Terrible ruling.
The real problem here is the number of millennials whose word means nothing even when the millennial has sworn an oath to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
I hope she is convicted on all three counts and the judge sentences her to three consecutive 5-year terms and she is forced to serve every day of each of those terms.
I hope you meant to say, “My hubby’s ex is a shrew...” rather than “My hubby’s ex-shrew...” The first statement says your husband’s ex-wife is a shrew. The second statement suggests your husband’s current wife might also be a shrew. I hope that is not what you meant to say.
“Firing squad.”
For whom?
This is the largest group of "must prove I'm needed", unqualified busybodies in the nation.
The perjurer.
Thank you. This topic is normally outside my interests; however, I have heard from several sets of Christian foster and adoptive parents of strange behavior by CPS/OCS-type social workers, up to and including reversals and attempted reversals of adoptions.
The government has the power, but not the right, to remove parental rights, to coerce you to pay for your kids’ sex-change operation, to confiscate your property, and to put you in a nuthouse.
Still think we are in the land of the free?
Ah. Thank you, the judge was also suggested. I thought that extreme.
The idea that jury trials were necessary, to get a fresh set of eyes.
Otherwise, with career Court officials, they don't see a citizen accused by the State.
They just see the usual person in the usual place.
Perjury short circuits ALL of those safeguards.
In addition, the ambiguity of the second statement could also be interpreted to mean that the ex-husband practiced cross-species reproduction.
I do not have enough data to agree or disagree here. Thank you.
The reason those millenials’ word means nothing is that they were born to filthy, scumbag boomers who (in lieu of parenting and teaching them about life and how to live it) handed them off to a never ending procession of daycare workers, preschool and Kindergarten teachers, teachers coaches, clergy, counselors etc....
Until they were old enough to become latchkey kids and .... raise themselves evidently.
Typically, a lot of the millennials, generation x, and late era boomers see one or the other parents for half an hour in the morning, three hours before bed but only if not doing homework.
Are millennials irresponsible liars as you allege?
Of course.
How could that sort of raising produce anything else.
This sounds sensible. Perhaps the essay should be posted.
Every month we are told “We need to send food home with kids because they don’t have food at home”. If you ask “Shouldn’t Social Services be called for neglect?”, you get a blank stare. We have institutionalized child abuse. So CPS is reduced to investigating home-schoolers and Christian families.
Muslims and Koreans beat their kids to the point of scarring and CPS does nothing.
“The government has the power, but not the right, to remove parental rights, to coerce you to pay for your kids sex-change operation, to confiscate your property, and to put you in a nuthouse.”
“Still think we are in the land of the free?”
++++++++++++++
“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. John Adams”.
This is the shortest answer I may give. Norski.
