More than 3,500 Amazon employees have signed a letter urging the e-commerce giant to take action on climate change, adding to growing activism by technology workers directed at their companies.
The letter, published Wednesday on the blogging platform Medium, calls for Amazon to publicly detail how it plans to handle disruption brought on by climate change and reduce its dependence on fossil fuels.
"Amazon has the resources and scale to spark the world’s imagination and redefine what is possible and necessary to address the climate crisis. We believe this is a historic opportunity for Amazon to stand with employees and signal to the world that we’re ready to be a climate leader," the group wrote.
A smaller group of Amazon employees and shareholders made a similar call in December.

Quit shipping products all over the place using fossil fuels!
Just shut down the business. It’s carbon footprint is probably bigger than 100 of the 200 countries in the world. That’ll solve the problem. And Bezos doesn’t need any more money, anyway.
Then they better eliminate all those shipping boxes and bubble wrap and find a non-fossil fuel delivery system. And turn off their electric lights and conveyor belts. Talk about hypocrites.
I make an effort to shop elsewhere but for some reason still get stuff in their boxes. Ticks me off royally.
Get rid of all trucks and planes. Everything delivered by mule and foot.
Amazon should hold classes on what climate change is really about....spreading the wealth....another form of Socialism with higher taxes for all. Another class under the heading of “How To Change The Sun”....or “How To Control Earthquakes” or “How To Tame Volcanoes” Actually there should be laws against the over use of macadam....anybody got a solution for heat generated from over paving the nation?
I bought one thing from Amazon...in my life.
And that was because I couldn’t find the item anywhere else.
