Illinois Medicaid program will soon cover gender reassignment surgery. The state proposed new coverage rules Friday. Their proposed changes would have Medicaid cover genital and breast-related surgeries for people that are at least 21-years-old and that have been diagnosed with gender dysphoria. Surgeries that may have been prohibitive for them before are now going to be covered by Medicaid, so it gives transgender individuals an opportunity to opt for those surgeries if thats something they want to do, Phoenix Center Executive Director Jonna Cooley said. Cooley said not all transgender people want to get gender affirmation surgery and said the procedures arent widely offered by doctors. According to the state, Medicaid will start covering these procedures sometime this summer after a period of public comment.
insanity
using taxpayer $ to maim people is just about as bad as using taxpayer money to murder babies
I would rather we outlaw these elective procedures entirely and forbid any government agency from also in any way covering the hormones these mutilated idiots have to take.
Controversial of him but I'm sure it must be true. e also said long term ones (not a lot of data) start to have much higher cancer cases due to the hormones being unnatural for the gender the person was born with remaining in their signals from their dna despite their "choice."
And increasing numbers are regretting the change and trying to back to the old gender. Sick stuff.
So now we have to pay with our tax dollars for this if we have any money left over from paying for abortions. And the Mueller investigation against our president whom we chose in a fair election. What a country.
How many times can each person have reassignment surgery before you say enough ?
Maybe they should roll out a plan to pay for existing bills.
Never mind mental illness, we’ll just chop those nasty bits off and you’ll be as right as rain.... up until someone reacts to you being mentally ill. We don’t help that part.
Make these queer forms of life pay for all of their strange realignments......................
It’s long past time to create a new America.
If we accept the premise that ‘gender dysphoria’ is a clinically observable and treatable condition ie an illness, can anyone name another illness in which doctors, psychologists, clinicians, parents, family, teachers, etc. expend great effort to PROLONG or WORSEN the condition?
Do we give alcoholics a bottle of vodka after their first AA meeting? Do we give children with nut allergies a can of Planter’s? Do we take persons with anxiety disorder and vertigo on a roller coaster?
The trans crowd wants to have its cake and eat it too by declaring trans to be a real thing and then demanding that trans should be legally, medically and ethically exempt from any attempt to address it.
Second, do no harm!
This is badly needed. Medicare has way too much money and needs to find a way to spend it all.
> A doctor on a news show said he believes every transgender or reassignment or whatever they call it has mental health symptoms.
It’s not even slightly controversial. Even the crazies themselves claim to have a mental illness called “gender dysphoria”.
What they actually have is histrionic personality disorder, but who among them would admit it?
The more obvious absurdities this aside, what in God’s name does it say about a society that joyfully sexually mutilates mentally ill people?
I guess the Rats have decided that Illinois wasn’t careening toward total financial collapse fast enough.
So can women get free breast implants in Illinois then? If not it seems like discrimination.
I’m not sure which idea is more stomach turning, sex reassignment or getting surgery at Stroger Hospital.
They wouldn't do this to a criminal but I guess it's OK to do it to the mentally ill?
Anyone who treats "dysphorias" by deranging them on hormones and then amputating their sexual characteristics, ought to be in jail for aggravated assault. At least.
So the poor tax payer is now on the hook for this radical elective surgery? Where will it end? Will we will pay when they want to change back and for all the psychiatric counseling also?
