WASHINGTON (AP) — Earth’s glaciers are melting much faster than scientists thought. A new study shows they are losing 369 billion tons of snow and ice each year, more than half of that in North America.

The most comprehensive measurement of glaciers worldwide found that thousands of inland masses of snow compressed into ice are shrinking 18 percent faster than an international panel of scientists calculated in 2013.

The world’s glaciers are shrinking five times faster now than they were in the 1960s. Their melt is accelerating due to global warming, and adding more water to already rising seas, the study found.

A quick check on the “scientists” named shows that all three of them are lunatic doomers.

These people should be in mental hospitals (for being hysterical doomsaying nuts) or jails (for engaging in the outrageous fraud of AGW) - not be being quoted as serious people in newspapers.

False. Greenland lost zero ice in 2016-2017: http://sciencenordic.com/how-greenland-ice-sheet-fared-2017 and again in 2017-2018 (change 17 to 18 in the URL above). If "scientists" say ice melt faster than thought, they are lying in various ways, comparing past cold periods to warmer periods starting in the 80's and ignoring the last few colder years.

Good. More water in the sea means more evaporation and that means more rain on the plains of Spain and for the great Sahara forest which as been in a drought for a long, long time.
