Nielsen’s resignation as DHS secretary comes amid a surge of illegal immigration at the U.S.-Mexico border and an expanded Catch and Release policy that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency has been tasked with carrying out.
During Nielsen’s tenure as DHS secretary, illegal immigration has increased nearly every month over the last year and a half. Simultaneously, the Trump administration has yet to construct a border wall on new land at the southern border that did not previously have barriers built by the Bush and Obama administrations.
Most recently, officials with the National ICE Council accused Nielsen of “grossly” mismanaging DHS and failing to acknowledge that the agency had been operating an expanded Catch and Release policy for border crossers and illegal aliens for months.
As Breitbart News chronicled, Nielsen previously served in the Bush administration overseeing a crisis team following the destruction of New Orleans, Louisiana, by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The Bush administration had waved federal regulations to allow an unlimited level of illegal immigration into the Gulf Coast to take low-skill jobs rebuilding the region. Nielsen previously chaired a World Economic Forum committee that authored a report praising mass migration into Europe. For her confirmation process to DHS, Nielsen worked with an assortment of allies that worked vigorously in the 2016 presidential election to oppose Trump, including Frances Townsend and Tom Ridge.

Time to put the Army armed with rubber bullets on the border. Fire on sight. Make sure they also have real bullets if fired upon by cartel/bad guys so they can return fire and kill them as needed. Do this for a few days and the invasion will slow to a trickle. It’s not rocket surgery; even AOC can understand it. Okay, maybe not AOC, but anyone else who is not a brainless dem should get it.

President Trump is HORRIBLE with appointing people and it’s shocking considering his business would never settle for such incompetence.

The Dems will try to destroy the life of anyone who accepts a nomination from President Trump. A big goal of the whole Russia collusion lie was to intimidate worthy people from agreeing to serve under Trump. Dems politicos are evil bullies.
Trump did not pick her. She was the right hand women for General Kelly when Trump made General Kelly Secretary of DHS. Trump needs to promote people who know how to work within the Federal Government. And secondly, he needs to find someone who wants to enforce the law, by enforcing the boarder.
Have you ever thought that the President knows the immigration and border crisis is a winning campaign issue for him. Why would he not want this crisis to increase exponentially, as it has?
Of course he wants to appear that he is getting “tough” and he would be successful if it wasn’t for those MS-13 supporting Democrats and those ultra-liberal judges. But the ever increasing flood plays into his hands for campaigning and reelection.

The other explanation would be that he has run the absolutely worst Presidential personnel management effort in history. A complete dunce about most of his top hires. It really is one or the other.
No. The other option would be his own party doesn’t support the MAGA agenda (2016 GOP platform) and President Trump’s options are very limited. The Dems just can’t wait to trot out the “GOP can’t govern” talking point and POTUS can’t give them that with a GOP Civil War over the GOP donor class open border agenda.
Trump, apparently, had no problem with those decisions - until they became politically inconvenient.
Trump, apparently, needed a DHS official who could be confirmed by the Senate.
The idea he doesn’t want a MAGA person in this job is beyond silly. Never forget the public threats he received when he floated the idea of firing Sessions. If the GOP will do that in public just imagine what they are doing in private.
POTUS is trying to herd cats and get all wings of the GOP to the polls in 2020. What a mess. It’s that simple.

I don’t even want to think about all of the “conservative” judges he is appointing. I mean, why would he get that right?
Those are McConnell judges. Chamber of commerce type. ‘Conservative’ judge means pro business; that doesn’t mean its good for US in terms of immigration, national security, trade, etc.
