President Trump announced Sunday afternoon that Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen "will be leaving her position" after 16 months in the job.
Trump also announced that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Kevin McAleenan will replace Nielsen as acting secretary, tweeting: "I have confidence that Kevin will do a great job!"

Nielsen's departure is the latest staffing shakeup in the department, which was founded to combat terrorism after the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks.
On Friday, Trump confirmed he had withdrawn the nomination of acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Ron Vitiello to become the permanent head of the agency, telling reporters that "Ron’s a good man, but we’re going in a tougher direction, we want to go in a tougher direction."

My point is the firing of Comey changed nothing. They were out for Trump’s blood one way or the other. Comey deserved to be fired. If anything it wasn’t done soon enough.
How about we continue firing people until we get somebody who isn’t a registered Democrat or #Resist member?

Israel insisted that Saddam had WMDs. More specifically Netanyahu promised Bush that Iraq had WMDs. Why attack Iraq? Why not Iran? I’ll tell you why. Attacking Iraq guaranteed that we would be in the Middle East forever... defending against Iran... the real enemy. Attacking Iran or Saudi Arabia (the real enemies) would have eliminated the radicals AND the need for American boys to be in the Middle East. My best idea would be to abolish DHS (I think it was created by Executive Order), and just have the military staff the border.
Or better yet, the FBI (it'll keep them out of D.C.)

They let Trump huff and puff, but he really seems like he has been neutered by the Deep State. I fear it is because of the threat of his kids and SIL getting indicted, for which he made the reported truce with the Bush family that neither would really be exposed.

I agree....though there maybe a rare few exceptions it’s not the standard.
We need Pompeo types as he gets along with Trump even when they disagree.....and he’s serious and forthright when he needs to be in the face of confrontations etc..
As for DHS that’s just too great of a responsibility for a woman as I see it. Everyone knew in short order Neilsen was in over her head.
