Does anybody see a way out of this? What would such a conflict look like with no clear geographical or physical boundaries between the parties?

It will start out as confusing and undefined. Then both sides will get uniforms and lines will be drawn. It will be the coast vs the middle.

There won't be a civil war.....not enough on either side willing to take up arms...it'll fizzle out before it even gets off the ground. Better would be everyone go to the border and fight the hoards there.

With outside countries supplying factions with weapons.

It will smell of death throughout the land.
