Shortly before Special Counsel Robert Mueller filed his report on the Russia investigation last month, Sens. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., alerted Attorney General Bill Barr to what they described as the "selective" use of emails in Mueller court filings -- as well as potential improper political influence, misconduct, and mismanagement in the FBI's original Russia probe.
In a March 8 letter, Grassley and Graham referred Barr to a letter sent to Mueller in late 2017 that alleged his investigators had cherry-picked details from emails to include in court documents, urging him to review the materials. They also notified him that they had asked DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz a year earlier to review the original FBI probe.
It's unclear if Barr reviewed the senators' letter; a DOJ representative declined to comment on the missive.
But Fox News is told the lawmakers wanted Barr to have this material before he reviewed the Mueller report, out of concern some emails were selectively quoted to give a nefarious impression.
(I don't know how to transfer the letter to FR, sorry)
Fox News has also obtained the 2017 letter (above) from Grassley to Mueller, which spelled out the lawmakers' concerns about the absence of additional context in the court filings -- as well as concerns over how those documents were covered in the media. "The glaring lack of [context] feeds speculation and innuendo that distorts the facts," Grassley wrote at the time.

How do GOP senators know what emails Mueller was including? Were the GOP senators “in the loop” on the investigation?
The disgraceful team of partisan investigators hired by Dirty Cop Robert Mueller just disgraced themselves further through a series of unforgivable leaks to the fake news media.
Obviously angry over the fact President Trump is so innocent they could not even come up with a way to frame him, Some of Muellers investigators, the far-left New York Times reports, have told associates that Attorney General William P. Barr failed to adequately portray the findings of their inquiry and that they were more troubling for President Trump than Mr. Barr indicated.
Told associates *wink-wink* Oops, I had no idea *wink-wink* it would make the front page of the Times! *digs toe in dirt*
Catherine Herridge always gets my attention. She’s top rate.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. The individuals who are claiming that Barr mis-represented the findings in his 4 page letter to Congress, are the same individuals who leaked throughout the investigation.
She has the best sources for sure.
The stink will never be off the doj/fbi, nor congress for that matter.
“Catherine Herridge always gets my attention. Shes top rate”.
Same here. She is am excellent investigative reporter and very rare these days.
Trump provided the e-mails to congress voluntarily. The Senators then saw the leaks, making it obvious that the leaked portions of the e-mails were cherry picked, out of context and misleading. Graham and Grassley are warning the AG that since the SC already demonstrated a propensity to lie/mislead with selective e-mail excerpts, that Barr should be alert for such behavior in the Mueller Report.
I thought there was a ‘Gang of Eight’ that knew everything about everything when it came to oversight and providing counsel and such.. but Special Counsels don’t have to show any of their cards, just rely on stuff made up as you go, apparently.
+1000
You are almost certainly correct. I also think Barr is going to make sure he doesn't get played here. He would look bad if the kind of stuff Graham and Grassley pointed to in their letter was allowed to get past him.
“The stink will never be off the doj/fbi, nor congress for that matter.”
Something has convinced them that they don’t have to care what the citizens of this country think. Perhaps they really don’t work for us.
From the PapaDROPolous charging statement.
Perhaps they really dont work for us.
Most in DC do not.
Yes. I didn’t pay attention to you said this. Now I will read the entire article. They really should give her headlines with her name first. Catherine Herridge reports...
More likely these traitors are caught and are trying to throw any possible weapon at the situation. This smacks of absolute desperation.
