Dem Stacey Abrams still not conceding defeat, claims GOP stole Georgia election
Fox News ^ | April 3 2019 | Louis Casiano

Former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams questioned the legitimacy of her 2018 loss during an event in New York City on Wednesday, saying she refuses to concede the race to Republican Gov. Brian Kemp, while accusing the GOP of stealing the election.

"Despite the final tally and the inauguration [of Gov. Brian Kemp] and the situation we find ourselves in, I do have a very affirmative statement to make: We won," she told the crowd at the annual convention of the Rev. Al Sharpton's National Action Network.

Abrams ran as a Democrat and would have been the first African-American woman governor in America had she won. She lost to Kemp by more than 54,000 votes, but has repeatedly refused to concede the outcome.

What’s with this whole conceding thing? She doesn’t have to concede. There was a contest, the woman lost and she is not the governor. Period. End of story.

How is she different from Hillary?

Exactly. Or AlGore. Or Gillum. This is the new/old tactic: deny reality and repeat it over and over again. Disgusting, cynical hypocrites all.

Btw, Abrams won't come close next election. This one was an anomaly and will now have her sore-loser reputation to contend with, which doesn't do well w/ voters.

LOL. The "title" attribute was commonplace in the 1990s before hover-over javascripts became popular -- and as you know, for security reasons they are verboten on FR.

I guess we could say old tech is groovy again :-)  Kind of like FReepers: we may be out of fashion, but defending our freedom and the Republic are never out of style.

Actually, the <span> is not needed as long as you "wrap" the text to be titled with an underline, bold, or other tag such as:

Thank you. I put more than a little thought into it.

I do need to update it a bit.

Enjoy your day.

One quote in particular is worth discussing some more: Heinlin makes sense.  Consultng a fool and voting the opposite can turn a lot of elections the right way.

And what does it say about the GOPe in 2016 who stayed home and did not cast their vote to keep the great harlot Hillary out of office? Pure treason on their part.

I’ve always and have been ridiculed here on FR for it. The act of voting has two components to it - a positive and a negative! If a bond levy it’s obvious you pull the lever, push the button or mark the ballot yes or no. If it’s an office with candidates it’s still there but it’s subtle. The positive component is to give someone power by voting for them, the negative is to deny them that power by voting for someone else. It’s great if the voting act can be bundled into one candidate - giving them power. However that’s very rare in this day and age. Denying someone power is now the far far more important component then giving one power. Every Rat presidential candidate since Truman were far far too irresponsible (and that slide downward was exponential!) to be given presidential power no matter how flawed the GOP candidate was. So for me every presidential vote I participated in since Carter was to deny the Rat candidate power by voting for the deeply flawed GOP candidate. Not voting or voting or voting 3rd party is surrendering the field. 2020 maybe the first time where my positive component of voting is greater then my negative.

I’ve always [voted the negative] and have been ridiculed here on FR for it.  The act of voting has two components to it — a positive and a negative!  Denying someone power is now the far far more important component than giving one power.

* * * *

When I first read Heinlen's quote about voting a negative, I thought it was smart, but a secondary reason for voting.

But listening to your argument, I'm being to see how it should be preached as the primary purpose of voting!  Teach it to new voters!  Great education about what the Founders worried about — protecting the Republic from infection and the growth of hard-to-destroy viruses that in due time would surely kill the free Republic.

Glad to hear you consider my guy Trump to be a positive enough force to reelect as your primary reason for pulling the lever!

But let me add one counterpoint that may be significant. A lot people believe that Trump would not have gotten elected had Romney beat Obama in 2012.  If true, it's an exception because Trump was worth waiting for, though we didn't know it at the time!

Love to see some discussion on this topic.  What say ye: Lurker, Liz, HL27, V K Lee?

I saw the word and remembered it being used in an operetta.
From Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Iolanthe”

Your lordly style
We’ll quickly quench
With base canaille!

(That word is French.)

Distinction ebbs
Before a herd
Of vulgar plebs!

(A Latin word.)

‘Twill fill with joy
And madness stark
The hoi polloi!

(A Greek remark.)

One Latin word, one Greek remark,
And one that’s French.

FIRST DISCUSSION!!!

RAT ROMNEY has never been nor will EVER be anything but WILLARD THE RAT...he is as detestable as Hillary Clinton could ever think of being...

That RAT is beyond evil and it idiots he associates with are just as bad...just look at what he is doing to the other RAT who Hatch could keep control of while he was there, turning into to...Mike Lee is no more Conservative that fly to the moon and NEVER HAS BEEN!!! ONE BIG FAT RINO!!!

Now for the Second Issue:

Research the person, where he was born, to whom he was born to, where he lived, his parents, his schooling, when did he enter politics, what are his beliefs, what about his voting record, all that stuff plays a part in who you are about to send either to govern your city, county, state or Country...and you best not make a mistake like Utah has done with Mike Lee and Willard Rat Romney...this is how RINOs are made, you can fool the people some of the time, but you cannot fool the people all of the time...and Arizona just learned that lesson very well also with ‘what's his name’ and the biggest FLAKE in the world (other than what we have in Utah)...

The weight of politics has become too heavy. There is not a day that goes by where we can avoid ANYTHING having to do with our government. Government, itself, should have the role of a stage producer. In the background, the glue that enables the total unity to adhere as one. Our government has failed in that concept. Rather than a stage hand, they have morphed into the STAR of the show. If we don’t pay attention, we will be swept into unknown territory, ruled by tyrants which were voted into office only because of our inattention. Needless to say, McCain and Romney votes cast was only due to the fact the alternative would have been the harlot.

Due to the changing of the primary calendar, the campaign is now never ending and even more of a weight. Does it ever stop? A nation should never need to have constant debate in the choosing of leadership. The electorate tires and possibly becomes bored in their attempt to keep abreast.

YES, POTUS-VSG DJT was the first vote actually cast for a man who was decidedly given this vote. He was the one voted for; not necessarily due to the fact there was an opponent to vote against.

Thankful that at least one vote was used in a positive manner, rather than voting against my entire life.
