More and more all the time, since millennials are voting more and they vote with their feeeeeeeelings, not with their brains.
Let me speak up for the millennials who are voting with their “feelings” (and I’m closer to the 19th than to the 21st).
Something is very, very wrong. We all feel it. There is a social and political crisis in Western Europe and in America which threatens everything we love, which is one of the reasons we are here.
The two major parties in the US and the UK (I don’t follow continental politics) are both split and played out. The “conservative” parties (GOP and Tories) have contempt for their voters and love for globalism and the personal rewards it can bring.
The unfolding Brexit disaster in the UK and the #resistance within the Executive Branch to a legally elected President are two sides of the same coin.
Those of us looking at ten-twenty years before we are gone experience this differently than the young.
The ascension of the Leftist tendency is due solely to the fact that their politicians AFFIRM and VALIDATE the view that following the post-1945 global capitalist path to dissolution of borders and atomization of peoples is leading us to disaster, while the Tories and GOPe policies (except for Trump) say, basically, “pay no attention to that man behind the curtain”.
Tax cuts and cheap labor are not going to win hearts and minds of a frightened generation who have been cheated out of their birthright.
As long as we allow voting, radical change is coming. If the GOP and the Tory party in the UK do not cut their ties to the Davoisie, they will be gone in ten years or less.
I’m sorry; but I’m afraid they ARE using their brains!
Speaking as a millennial, I agree 100%.
The top headline on one news site this morning was something like Chicago elects first black, openly gay, female mayor. Millennials think those details are whats important.
Not all that different than their grandparents who voted out of fear of losing medicare or social security.
And certainly no different than their grandparents who STILL won't stand up out of fear of being called the R word or for the good feels they get being "inclusive".
Fear is an emotion.
