Yes, Elsie, the bible does have examples of top down revival. This was in the kingdom of Israel top down government economy. It makes sense that we would see kings of Israel establishing reforms, even though kings were next-best (God had urged a more pure theocracy through priests, but the people wanted kings to win wars like other countries did).
In the New Testament we see a mention of government “giving praise to those who do right” (Romans 11 I believe). Under this model, we could see figures like Donald Trump and Mike Pence actively encouraging Christian activity, while the secular left (and all hell) gnashes its teeth and tries its worst, which won’t overcome God.
The economy can be a lot different if there are enough “righteous men” (in fact, per the Abrahamic bargain, had there merely been 10 righteous men in Sodom, it never would have gone down in flames). I think this is something we forget, fixated on hellfire and brimstone and forgetting the Cross. Jesus took our hellfire and brimstone if we are believers.

Yep, the program is an embrace of Jesus Christ as supernatural savior. This vastly overshadows any other details or even confusions.
I know that between Protestant and Catholic official churches there are a lot of theological differences, with Protestant closer to literal bible. Sorting all this out may have to wait for Jesus to return. However I have found blessings from Jesus following a number of individual Roman Catholics, as well as a number of individual Protestants. I know too few Orthodox to speak personally, but I would be shocked if they were an exception to the principle. It’s Jesus Christ, the Name Above All Names, that beats out all subservient details.

I believe it is a reasonable conclusion to brace, but not to panic.
Even socialists have learned that they need “capitalist” cash cows to run their playgrounds. The businesses in Chicago will doubtless continue to get what they need, and they aren’t in the worst areas.
What I see here is a place where Christian intervention could do a lot of good, even if Christians have to submit to the risks of being in dicey areas.
