I believe it is a reasonable conclusion to brace, but not to panic.
Even socialists have learned that they need “capitalist” cash cows to run their playgrounds. The businesses in Chicago will doubtless continue to get what they need, and they aren’t in the worst areas.
What I see here is a place where Christian intervention could do a lot of good, even if Christians have to submit to the risks of being in dicey areas.
