The Pittsburgh City Council on Tuesday approved new gun control legislation that will place restrictions on the use of military-style assault weapons, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.
The legislation, introduced after last year's mass shooting at an area synagogue, would make it illegal "to manufacture, sell, purchase, transport, carry, store or otherwise hold in ones possession an assault weapon within the City," according to local NBC affiliate WPXI.
The legislation will place restrictions on weapons like the AR-15 rifle, which authorities say was used in the Oct. 27 massacre at Tree of Life Synagogue that killed 11 and wounded several others.

Finally! The 25,678’th gun law to put an end to gun violins. /sar
Buy one, own one and train with one.
ILLEGAL under State Constitution. They cannot enforce this law.
Break it and then sue their ass off in court
So .... the military assaults rather than protects us from the enemy .... is that right ?
Dangerous, but also willfully ignorant. A city cannot pass a law that overrides state law. So while they’re at it, Pittsburgh might as well pass a law declaring itself to be the capital of Pennsylvania. That would be just as silly.
Side note: I’d be more impressed if this new Pittsburgh law included a provision disarming the guards at City Hall. But for some reason that provision is missing.
Philly tried this at least once in the past.
There was a time when you didn’t want to test it by carrying in the city. Then I think someone did, and it all went away.
These communities that get shot up often overreact in this way.
But what about pointed sticks and bananas?
Just more worthless illegal commie- style demagoguery Why they even bother escapes me.
So, just driving through Commiedelphia with a common AR-15 in your trunk is a violation of law? What NONSENSE. Add Pennsylvania to my list of “don’t visit until after the war” states.
Take heart. Pennsylvania is actually a nice place. Most of the problems (and crazies) are in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. Wait. Add Harrisburg, too. The crime rate has exploded there.
Another local city council law that will be overturned by the courts because it violates state law. The Pittsburgh City Council knows this too, they’re just going to make the local taxpayers foot the bill for their virtue-signaling grandstanding.

So how do I get rid of one?
