So taxpayers are subsidizing your electric car purchase.
Progressives really like those coal-powered cars.
If these cars are a great idea and value, there would be no need for the transfer of money from productive innocent people to those who would like an electric vehicle.
I detest the government steeling money from us (taxpayers) to transfer to others who did not earn it, just because a few uniparty types like or favor some group.
I couldn’t agree more, these EV tax credits are criminal in my view.
This is what passes for the brightest in SillyConjob Valley.

They should expand it to include internal combustion cars, for the sake of inclusiveness, tolerance and fairness.
I love how the hated SUVs will be golden if they are electric.
Which means that people with fuel driven cars pay for the roads with fuel taxes and the EV’s get a break.
Being unable to get across-the-board tax cuts, I’m all for tax credits wherever we can get them.
You earn what you can, and gov’t confiscates less of it (at least under some conditions).
Yeah if the product is so ####ing good you don’t need subsidies.
I don’t think I’m ready yet to drive my Challenger to the nearest dealership and see how much I can get towards an electric car.

Tax cuts and tax credits are a good thing. Anything such as tax credits that help industry in the USA is probably good. Electric cars are more practical than you think. (Tesla is a huge employer around here by the way.) I hope Pres. Trump finds nothing noxious in this bill and signs it. Who cares who proposed it, if it is good for our economy.
Exactly! Taxpayers shouldn’t be subsidizing EV’s for other people.
So the middle class can subsidize the elite driving around in their Teslas.
Evidently you didn’t read the whole article, President Trump proposes repealing the electric vehicle tax credit.

What? To justify the tripling of electric taxes to offset your money trough loss on gas taxes?

Tesla owners bill the rest of for their bene’s of ownership.
7,500 tax credit(why isn’t there one for Ford reducing their CAFE?)
They don’t pay gas taxes to maintain the roads they drive on.
They get preferential rights to be in the HOV/Carpool lane and again, they pay no taxes to support the roads they drive on
Tesla is luxury car like Mercedes or BMW who’s owners do not enjoy the taxpayer bene’s or incentives to purchase.
In California, they are a burden on an already over burden electric system.
Where do Tesla’s go when they die?
I you look at the entire life of an electric car from beginning to end then the conclusion is that Electric cars are worse for the environment than Gas powered ones. The whole thing is a scam. And not one that I should have to pay for.
Coal cars. Nice.
