Dicks Sporting Goods took a loss of an estimated $150 million in sales last year after the company heavily restricted firearm purchases and began advocating for gun control.
The company made various policy changes after a school shooting in Parkland, Florida, left 17 dead. It announced it would no longer sell modern sporting rifles or high-capacity magazines and increased the purchase age for all firearms to 21.
Dicks also hired anti-gun lobbyists to promote gun restriction legislation, despite saying it still supports the Second Amendment.
The system does not work, said Edward Stack, Dicks CEO. Its important that when you know theres something thats not working, and its to the detriment of the public, you have to stand up.

I am curious how , if at all , Hertz Rental Car has paid for it’s dissing and rejection of it former relationship with the NRA and NRA members renting from Hertz ?
Hertz has really been coming apart since Kathryn Marinello took over as CEO in 2017 . Reservations tanking , managers lay-off’s company wide . And the hard tilt to the Left with the anti NRA embarrassment thing . They used to be Number 1 , but now the competition is cleaning their clock .
Is all that OK with their stockholders ? Let along the car renting public .

CEO should be shit-canned. Any Board member objecting should also be gone. They have hurt the company and investors.

The system does not work because of the absence of ways to deal with 'crazy'. In nearly every shooting incident, the perpetrators were, for all intents and purposes, 'crazy'. Several of them had already been 'flagged' by school counselors and/or trained therapists. But, they continued to be 'mainstreamed'.
The problem with many of the knee-jerk resolutions is that they are feelgoodism band-aides.

My money goes elsewhere as well. They opened a store in Reno just before this nonsense. Hasn’t gone out of business yet but the few times I’ve seen the area, it appears empty. Almost like Target, not sure how they stay in business.

Edward Stack, Dicks CEO, should be fired by its Board of Directors. He should be sued by the shareholders for abrogating his fiduciary duties with deliberate and reckless misconduct.

$150 million in sales.
Of course they didn’t have to buy the weapons to stock in their stores.
Their annual sales in 2017 was $7.3 Billion. $150 million isn’t that big of a deal I wouldn’t think.
They are still dicks though.
