The problem is that the legislative, justice and intel communities themselves have become so corrupted by this that an independent commission is needed that doesn’t already have their fingerprints in this.

We actually have a precedent for this and that is the Warren Commission set up by LBJ in 1963 to investigate the JFK assassination.

It should be made up of the Chief Justice of the U.S., the Attorney General, one Republican and one Democrat member of the intelligence committees from the Senate and the House plus retired heads of the FBI and CIA (not current ones or ones connected to the scandal). They would investigate and produce the report and recommend charges against individuals in the conspiracy. If 50% of this committee agree to press charges on treason, they will be handed over to a military tribunal for final determination.

Connected to the scandal or not, you just described a panel of pretty much 100% deep state swamp creatures.

I say, nonsense!

I posted this earlier...

Mueller himself set the framework.

It should be perfectly acceptable for a new special prosecutor be a Republican former US Attorney like Joe DiGenova or Andrew McCarthy, and then staff it up with nothing but Republican investigators.

If it was good enough for Mueller, it's good enough for who comes after Mueller.

Knowing Republicans, they'll probably Gorelick the whole thing up by trying to be bipartisan about it, and agree to a Democrat plant who will secretly report back to Pelosi and Schumer everything that the special counsel is planning.

And how would that work today?

Chief Justice of the U.S. [compromised by current CIA]
the Attorney General [handcuffed by current investigations]
one Republican and one Democrat member of the intelligence committees from the Senate and the House [never decided on due to partisanship]
plus retired heads of the FBI and CIA [none are alive that are NOT connected]

What do we currently have?
IG Horowitz investigation the FISA system
DDAG (Utah) Huber investigating CF.

Simple, clean and no political bureaucracy involved.
