I strongly supported Mueller being allowed to complete his investigation and submit his findings. Now that Mueller has found no collusion took place, we need to set aside our partisan interests and recognize that finding the president of the United States not guilty of conspiring with a foreign power to interfere with our elections is a good thing for America.
If the president of the United States had been indicted for conspiring with Russia to interfere with and affect the outcome of our elections it would have precipitated a terribly divisive crisis that could have even led to civil war.
Now we must stand together and move beyond this divisive issue that has taken up enough of the national conversation. I'm calling on Congress to protect the integrity of the 2020 elections - and all elections - by passing my Securing America's Elections Act, which empowers every state to use voter-verified paper ballots making it impossible for Russia or anyone else to change our election results Americans all over the country are asking when our leaders, from every party, are going to put aside partisan politics and work to address the challenges that are threatening American lives and livelihoods.
We have a lot of work to do rebuilding our country's crumbling infrastructure, ending wasteful regime change wars, forging a clean energy future, ensuring healthcare for all, achieving immigration reform and so much more.
I do not agree with Tulsi Gabbard on 80% of her positions, but I believe in giving credit where due. I think she is the only (D) candidate and one of VERY few (D)s in Congress acting like adults regarding this rather than as petulant brats.
If this one could survive the primaries, she would be a strong candidate. Luckily for Trump, democrats are held bent on nominating another extremist.
The Voter ID thing sounds good.
Russians could end up voting in yuge numbers if we don’t require ID!!
“precipitated a terribly divisive crisis that could have even led to civil war. “
Very astute...
Civil war? Really? That’s pretty knee-jerk reactionary for a politician to spit out. In fact I hear and read a lot CWII comments, but Tulsi is the first politician I have heard go public and utter that ultimatum.
She really doesn’t mean it. Just wait for push to come to shove. Bernie called Trump a racist just recently. Wouldn’t criticize Hillary’s emails. At the moment of truth you will see. That time hasn’t come for Tulsi.
You know what kills me is that she and all the Dems scream about Russia, but have no issue with Mexico and other Latin American countries voting in our elections.
Frequently Tulsi goes her own way when it comes to the DNC. I disagree with most of her positions but she is the least odious Dem presidential candidate.
Good for Tulsi. She’s my Congressperson. Glad to hear Express some sanity
The democrat politicians led us to all this divisiveness by their knowingly completely false claims.
PAPER BALLOTS??? Oh like the one where you find box load of only when your candidate looses? Screw that. Voter ID card that’s swiped and you are allowed to vote once. Immediately rejected if already swiped, and that person is also immediately arrested for voter fraud!
I realize she is only a well-packaged Bernie. But the presidential race is a beauty contest. Tulsi is well equipped in that department. Plus, moderates would be attracted to her, especially with her Army cred.
Maybe. “Paper” mail in ballots are the law here in Washingtonstan, and I trust our elections not one teensy little bit.
Besides, any “D” squeaking about “getting past this” and skipping the vital step of exposing and applying the law to the corruptocrats who have abused their positions of power to attempt a coup through the Muh Russia conjob should be ignored, save only to make sure they get a real close look when draining the swamp begins in earnest.
She is the only high profile Democrat who is not evil. She is the only one who is honest. Out of an entire party.
I tend to agree with you on this.
“it would have precipitated a terribly divisive crisis that could have even led to civil war....”
what’s the bad news?
Can I move in to your Ohana?
Very nice, Tulsi.
But, ah, there’s this little thing about calling our President, and your Commander-in-Chief, “Saudi Arabia’s bitch”. Not cool sweetcheeks.
Sincerely apologize publicly (verbally, no social media) and then I’ll take you seriously on this subject.
Yours truly,
That may sound like a good idea, but it isn't. Anyone who hacked the system could cause a particular candidate's voters to be rejected - even though they had not voted.
More traditional ways of managing voter checklists that depend on humans checking IDs and marking the poll books are much more secure.
