A new poll shows a third of New York residents plan to move because they can't afford to stay.
Businesses that are closing cited "economic" reasons for their decision. They represent a wide array of industries including a biotech company, investment bank, internet services, commercial printer, and a Walmart online ordering processor.
New York governor Andrew Cuomo (D.), who is still reeling from the loss of Amazon, told CBS local news on Wednesday he was "sick to my stomach" and it was the "greatest tragedy I have seen since I've been in government." Amazon's deal would have provided $27 billion in revenues to the state and 25,000 new jobs.
A third of New Yorkers indicated they will leave as they cannot afford to live there, and 35 percent say they "will be forced to move in the next five years for better economic opportunity."

Ummm...just where did I say ALL new yorkers are LIBs. I was commenting about those who have LIB attitudes. Why don’t you “grow up”? Your over-sensitivity suggests that you may closely identify with those I was criticizing.
Why not name the miscreants that follow the shallow AOC, the numb nutz barbitch that has a degree in communism from boston u, as the reason that Amazon bailed out?
greatest tragedy I have seen since Ive been in government.
I think AOC had that written down on her term paper somewhere and Andy just copied it.
No - they will move to Texas, Florida, and Georgia and proceed to turn those states into liberal shit-holes by continuing to vote Democrat. Liberals in general and New Yorkers in particular NEVER learn from their mistakes. Moving from NYT to FL doesn't change their attitudes at all. Most of them can't figure out why New York had such high taxes. They just know that FL etc. are deficient in things like social programs, lacking in "common sense" gun control, have too low emission standards for vehicles, don't have enough tax credits for people who don't work, etc. And of course they have to vote for the politician (95 times out of 100 a Democrat) who promises to make government bigger to fix the non-problem that being New Yorkers they consider important and themselves to be infallible in their view. New Yorkers are like cancer cells metastasizing throughout the country. We need a wall around NY to keep the inmates in.
Most are, that's why it is a lib state...duh.
*****Then the states that these people want to go to should administer a test to determine if they will keep on their Dumbocrat voting ways.*****
These people are infiltrating my state (PA) turning it bluer all the time——My response “If you know why you’re fleeing and plan to vote against tyranny and Democrats, then you are welcome-—if not, then move to CA or NJ and save yourself the frustration of turning your state bluer”....
...even worse, a NJ/NY Republican is [at best] a moderate in most red states. However, in my area of PA, the people fleeing NJ (including myself 2012) have a BURNING passion for limited government-—so there’s that.
I think we are on the same page, OG.
Clinton got 59% of the statewide vote, and 79% of the NYC vote. Manhattan and the Bronx were specially strong pro-Hillary with 86% and 88% respectively for the felon
A litmus test for liberal attitude hold over for escapees from NY is how many Kalishnikovs/AR-15s they bought upon fleeing to their new home: zero or not zero. One or more shows they don’t have a liberal attitude, zero indicates that maybe they still have some NY values.
That’s great Mouton.:)
This from a socialist canadian.
Left NJ in 1988 for Texas, and never have been back.
Due to work, I spent ten years in Minnesota. Mark Dayton did it for me in 2011, and I returned to Texas.
After crossing into Iowa, I faced north and gave a double single digit salute.
Minnesota! Bleep you!
You go to Hell, Im going to Texas!
Bought 4 guns after I moved to South Carolina from New York.
Dude, so far all the folks we know who have left or are planning on leaving are conservatives. Not everyone in NYS is a loony lefty.
Yep - you pass :-)
They should have learned a thing or two from the famous pimp, Velvet Jones. Beat your earners too often or too hard and they'll run off no matter how good you line of sweet talk is.
JMHo
One huge problem for New York and Illinois is that they are very easy places to leave behind and forget. California is luckier, in that regard - and harder to fix because the day of reckoning will be delayed that much longer.
Y’all need to stay there...you let the subversives eat your substance...now celebrate your achievements.
