Prosecutors present evidence to convict. The defense argues against, and presents evidence that mitigates, and or refutes that presented by the prosecution. It is then the role of a jury (if a jury trial) or a judge otherwise to find guilty, not guilty (exonerate) or some other outcome e.g mistrial.

Not guilty is different than innocence ( exoneration).
Not guilty means a juror might think the guy is guilty but the case for that was not proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
Oh they were all in on it, but remember, this wasn't plan A. Plan A was to get Trump to withdraw from the race, or be defeated by the accusations at the polls. They were illegally spying on him for about a year, and created a paper trail through the FISA system that is incriminating as heck, but would never have seen the light of day if Hillary won.
Then Hillary won, Trump was inaugurated, and all of the paper trail they created was now visible to the Trump administration. They had to get rid of him, but they couldn't just make something up, they had to work with what was already there in their systems. This was never about Russia, the investigation was about two things: covering their tracks by stopping others from investigating (interference) and goading the president into interfering with the investigation. (obstruction)
It was the best they could do with what they had, something like a pair of sixes in poker, but they bluffed for two years and Trump didn't fall for it.

It was all a Kabuki dance white wash! Mueller and Rosenstein are both Republicans, so they were only pretending to go after Trump! (many many angry chimp noises of a similar sort, going on and on and on and on into the ages...)
Trump is vindicated. Collusion was a hoax. We know it started as a political scheme, we know the power of the DOJ, FBI ran with it as an “insurance policy.” A lesser person would be devoured by the allegations, the media drumbeat, the lies, the insinuations. Trump is would not break.
Mueller had unlimited time, unlimited resources, a dream team of Democrat partisans to dig into everything and anything. Every American should be glad to know there was no collusion or coordination by a presidential campaign. If they were smart Democrats would shut up and regroup. I suspect they’ll still feed the narrative Trump is still guilty of things Mueller didn’t look at.
Trump just had the better campaign, was the better candidate in 2016.
