The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the man who attacked an elderly woman on a subway car in the Bronx in the early hours of March 10. Video of the attack surfaced on Thursday that not only showed the woman being repeatedly kicked in the head and body but also showed that no one came to her aid, instead other riders pulled out their smartphones and filmed the attack.

I’ve said that with respect to guys publically beating up their girlfriends. After TWICE having the girlfriend come after me. The third time a guy started in on his girlfriend I minded my business...until, upon hearing a funny hollow thudding sound I looked up to se him dragging her by her hair, on her hands and kicing her in the face as he went.

I orde red him to stop and asked him if he’d enjoy trying that with me. He declined and went away. In a meek little voice she thanked me. 1 for 3. Oh well...

Sounds like the Murder of 28 year old Kitty Genovese in NYC 55 years ago.

Kitty wason her way home from work when she was raped and stabbed to death on the street outside her apartment building.

No one lifted a finger help her or come to her aid even though some heard her screaming during and after the attack.

The attacks spanned approximately half an hour; knife wounds in Kitty's hands show that she attempted to defend herself.

A neighbor, Sophia Farrar, found her shortly after the attacker fled and held her in her arms.

Kitty died on the way to the hospital.

Records of the earliest calls to police are unclear and apparently calls were not given a high priority.

Kitty screamed, "Oh my God, he stabbed me! Help me!"

Thank goodness they changed her assailant’s conviction to life in prison.

Quite a few years ago a young woman was stabbed to death on a NYC sidewalk and about 38 witnesses in surrounding apartments watch her get killed and not a one called the police to alert them as to what happened. It appears nothing has changed since then.

People doing nothing, that’s the real take-away from this clip. Truth is, the elderly old gal will most likely recover in a few days. It seems our civic culture, particularly that of New York, is on a different trajectory.
