The Chicago police union's president alleges that the county's top prosecutor interfered with the investigation of "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett before recusing herself and wants the Justice Department to determine if she broke any laws.
WLS-TV in Chicago reports that Fraternal Order of Police President Kevin Graham wrote the Justice Department following reports that Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx asked Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson to let the FBI investigate Smollett's allegations that he was attacked by two masked men after the former chief of staff to former first lady Michelle Obama informed Foxx that Smollett's family had concerns about the probe.
The police kept the investigation and Foxx recused herself. Her office charged Smollett with lying to police.
Foxx's office didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
I found this AP report in an obscure Canadian newspaper.... Of all places.
Hmm, let’s see... The Chicago Police Chief pretty much laid it all out on the line very clearly and now the Police Union (likely backed by Democrats) suddenly want to hand it over the FBI that has been repeatedly politically biased against President Trump.
No political maneuvering here.. SARC!!!!
They don’t wan to hand over the Smollet case.
They want the crooked top prosecutor looked into and if Kamala Harris was involved with this it is way beyond the scope of the local police to handle thins.
And the we know one of the prosecutors has already been compromised.
The FBI needs to investigate this prosecutor and make her life difficult.
They want the DOJ to investigate a Dem? Good luck with that.

This is a good source for info about the police view of events in Chicago. He refers to Kim Foxx as “Crimesha”.
The minute he dropped that letter into the mail, it became a federal case.
