I just came back from the store and saw an older woman another woman in her 20 and a small child. They were speaking some foreign tongue I couldn’t distinguish. Perhaps Eastern European. Were they here legally? Perhaps. Who paid for the airfare ($1,500/seat) Who is paying for the nice food she was tossing into the cart? YOU AND I, that’s who.
Did you miss the word LEGAL immigrants? Those coming to this country legally have quite a process to go through, as it should be. Part of that process is to determine if they will not be a burden on taxpayers.
That doesn't happen anymore. They get freebies and spend their days shopping on your dime.
Some do go through a thorough process that takes some time...Others come on the work visa and stay after it expires...Others come on Chucky Schumer’s vise lottery...

Broad generalizations are just aching for the exception.
The only time I have had surgery in my life, a cyst in my knee, it was removed by an Indian surgeon who had been a part of the community for nearly a decade. Good doctor who had emigrated about ten years prior and done his residency here in America.
Back in the 1970's when I was in college there were Lao, Hmong and Viets being allowed into America as refugees, but they had to have individuals or organizations who were financially willing and able to provide for them until they could pay their own way. No taxpayer funded government subsidies. I worked with one of them in the early morning hours unloading frozen food from trucks. Cold, hard work but it paid a little better than normal and that's why I was doing it as I worked my way through state university.
There were no food stamps, free health care or subsidized housing when my great grandparents came to America in the 1870's. As our PDJT said recently, we don't need or want immigrants on welfare. That should be the measure for anyone lacking skills or a profession who want to come to America: obay the law, work hard and pay your own way.

Our nation needs serious immigration reform which makes the self-supporting immigrant welcome and the deadbeats unwelcome and ineligible to enter America.

You may want no immigration and that is your right. But America is a nation of immigrants. We need to make self-sufficiency a requirement, not an option, once again.
It's been abused and needs to stop for 40 years IMO. That is more than fair.
