New footage has emerged of the moment Christchurch mosque attacks suspect Brenton Tarrant was arrested.

I understand he fired his court-appointed lawyer and is going to represent himself in court.

It looks like they had just taken him down, the tires are still spinning on his car. So, the police probably just saw his bombs in the car and we’re dragging him away from a possible explosion.

I see a lot of that type in the corner of South Asia were I am retired. Bulked up to ridiculous proportions because some of the drugs they use to get that way are fairly easy to come by in this part of the world.

The steroid type drugs seem to have an antisocial psychological effect on the user as well....or maybe they just make them less inhibited about their prior emotional condition? Don't know but I avoid them.

Actually, I viewed it as him being compliant and not resisting. Like, when he was ‘rolled over’ by the policeman, he just went with the roll and laid there limp afterwards. That wasn’t a “dead body movement”, but a live body, not resisting and ‘going with it’.

He did say before this shooting happened that he wanted to surrender and tell his story afterwards, which goes along with him firing his public defender, when he was assigned to him, and saying that he is going to represent himself. He’s going to “put on his case” ... but I don’t think the court will allow him to do that.

I don’t know about that. Maybe in very high dosage ... but I take them for a medical problem (they’re prescribed) and I don’t have that kind of problem. Perhaps medically prescribed doses are not high enough to do that ... don’t know for sure.

I would expect when used under a doctor's supervision they have their place in good health care.

What I see are the crazy, muscle bound Aussies and Kiwis (typically) in my little resort town with aggressive tendencies trying to bust up a bar and picking fights with people who caused them no harm out on the streets. They are largely unregulated recreational drugs around these parts. Folks from that part of the world come to this part of the world specifically to partake. Or they have a "friend of a friend" risk smuggling them back to their country.

Taken under a doctor's supervision, I am sure they have useful purposes.

An older article about an issue one of the fine Kiwi nationals had who reportedly made his fortune in loan sharking along the Australian Gold Coast:
