I used to volunteer at a place (i.e., my girlfriend at the time who is now my wife dragged me along) cleaning up in the cat room of a shelter.
I must admit I liked playing with the cats.

All done! Eight kennels cleaned, all dogs exercised (they were squirrely today; Spring Fever!) fed and watered. It just makes life easier if I stay on top of it. ;)
Beau was going to a United Kennel Club event tonight to hunt one of the Treeing Walker Coon Hounds that we raise, but his back is still bothering him, hence ME doing the mucking out, today. I do love those dogs, though. I raised 5 of the 8 from pups myself, so they’re special to me. :)

When we first got engaged and I sold my farm and moved out here to Beau’s farm, I had recently lost the last of my dogs, a Basset, to old age. I told him, ‘I’m done! I don’t want ANY pets in the house!’
I lasted a full year - now I have a Basset, a Beagle and two cats in the house, LOL!
