Former Obama Officials Ordered By Judge To Answer Judicial Watch Questions

A federal judge ordered multiple senior Obama Administration officials, State Department officials and former Hillary Clinton aides Thursday to provide answers under oath to questions requested by Judicial Watch after a roughly four year court battle.

Judicial Watch, a leading conservative non-profit watchdog group, announced the schedule of depositions in their case in a press release Thursday. The Judicial Watch questions regard two separate cases regarding the Obama administration’s actions during the Benghazi terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate and CIA Annex in Libya, and Hillary Clinton’s use of a private server to send classified government emails.

“Judicial Watch is doing the heavy lifting on the ongoing Clinton email scandal, even as Congress dropped the ball and DOJ and State continued to obstruct our quest for the truth,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton, in a press release Thursday. “The Court in our case wants real answers on the Clinton email scandal which is why our request for basic discovery was granted.”

District Judge Royce C. Lamberth ordered senior officials — including Susan Rice, Ben Rhodes, Jacob Sullivan, and FBI official E.W. Priestap – to respond under oath and submit the answers in writing to the questions provided by Judicial Watch. The decision from Lamberth was made this past January.

Lamberth ordered the discovery from the watchdog’s July 2014 FOIA lawsuit, which was filed after the State Department failed to respond to an earlier request made May 13, 2014.

The GOP on Dem corruption are like the Tories on Brexit: the foot-dragging is creating ruts as deep as the Grand Canyon.

And don’t forget the GOP. It had two precious years to get to the bottom of all this and they largely wasted it.

Two words - Paul Ryan

Two words - Paul Ryan

True but don’t overlook the fact that Ryan was chosen and allowed to stay in his job by his weak and feckless colleagues in the House. A similar thing could be said about McConnell.

No argument on that! It appears with the Turtle’s success with getting judges through that the Senate wasn’t as screwed up as the House. Look how many GOP Reps “retired” and didn’t run again (incl Eddie Munster)?

I think the Turtle “shows his tummy” to the alpha dog, which now is Trump. Also, I think Trump hiring the Turtle’s wife as a cabinet officer/hostage gives Trump leverage. “Well, McConnell, get my judges confirmed for the American people as it would be a shame if I had to fire your wife.”

Some could say the GOP performed according to plan...

***************

As time goes by it appears more and more that was the case. It was calculated and intentional obstruction.

Basically the GOP doesn’t want to do what its voters want to do. They say they do when they are running for office (i.e., they lie), but moments after being elected they start backtracking away from their false promises.

A case could be made that there are more liars in the GOP than there are in the Democrat Party.

Good analysis. The judges are critically important so I will give Mitch his due for making the progress he has made. But like you I will continue to question his motiviations.

I never thought I’d say this but I’d like to see Lindsey Graham become the senate majority leader.

Actually, one of the reasons Judicial Watch is so adept is that they have former intelligence analysts in addition to lawyers.

They spoke to the Atlanta Federalist Society (90% + of whom are conservative Originalist lawyers) in the last couple of years, and they are better at data analysis than we are.

I’ll be happier when Obummer himself is forced to answer questions.

I have a few dozen for him, just for starters.

I’m glad to see this, however I’m afraid most all evidence has been destroyed. The rats have been busy all these years. I can still hope.

Not Congress. It is silly to risk the remains of our liberty on the GOP.

Guess which one has actually pursued obvious, longstanding and pervasive lawbreaking?

I think I’m on every conservative sucker list in the country. I donate to a handful of them, the main one being Judicial Watch. The success of its work makes a mockery of the Federal alphabet agencies.
