Peter Kirsanow: ‘Astonishing’ Increases in School Violence after Obama’s Racial Discipline Quotas
Breitbart ^ | Robert Kraychik

Posted on 03/14/2019 4:50:40 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

The Obama administration wanted equal rates of disciplinary outcomes — including suspensions and expulsions — between different racial and ethnic groups of students, explained Kirsanow.

A Democrat state senator and a Teamsters president credited the aforementioned Obama administration school discipline policy with “chaos” in New York City schools and a lack of “accountability” for dangerous behavior.

Kirsanow said, “This was an imminently predictable consequences of the 2014 school discipline guidance that was jointly-issued by the Obama Justice Department and Education Department, which sought to equalize the rates of suspensions and expulsions between students of different races.”

...

Various teachers testified to the degradation of school discipline yielded by the Obama administration’s racial and ethnic education directives, said Kirsanow:

So to put a face on it, we had a number of school teachers testify that the schools were out of control. The classrooms were out of control. One of the teachers testified about being beaten severely, one testified about suffering really egregious injuries. One teacher had brain damage, as a result. These are not isolated incidents. They’re not the most dramatic incidents. If you look at the stats, you’ve truly got hundreds of thousands of more students per year who report that they have missed one or more days in the school year because they were fearful of going to class and being next to or being in the hallways with these violent perpetrators who should, by all rights, be suspended or expelled.

Another crime of giving aid and comfort to the enemy to be tacked onto the charges against Traitorobama and the Demonicrats.

Obama is typical of the professorial class who believes that its untested theories ("but, but, our laboratory experiments prove beyond a shadow of a doubt...") are representative of reality.

Heheh. Looks like Obama's manure has found its way to the fan.

Why are **children** forced to put up with conditions that would win an adult MILLIONS in court?

Seriously, is there any Freeper here who would apply for job, or remain in one, that offered an environment that is found government schooling today?

So?....When children **rationally** refuse to attend, truant officers pursue them. If sufficiently resistant and defiant of the law, they and their parents are arrested and brought before courts. If sufficiently resistant they will be killed.

Behind every government teacher in this nation stand armed police. ( Real bullets in those guns on the hip.)

Some people learn to game the system and seize opportunity to get away with something.

Maybe we can get all the catholic schools to start one day later than the public schools. The Catholic kids could enroll in public school, show up on the first day, yell “f you” at the teacher and get themselves “expelled”. This way, you have a ton of white kids expelled on the first day of class. You can then discipline the minorities during the rest of the school year without exceeding the quota.

Sigh.......haven’t seen your crazed teacher rant in awhile.

Now if you’re honest you’ll tell us the reason one of your kids was kicked out of school long ago. And since then your bitterness and rants have flowed like vinegar wine.

And yes, restorative justice is awful. So there’s that.

...

And then there was the Parkland shooter, who was given leniency because he has a Hispanic name, but he isn’t Hispanic.

Kindergartners attack each other daily in my wife’s class. Yesterday, one kid hit her repeatedly. She is not allowed to touch them, on pain of firing.

I for one am not astonished.

Nor do I think it is an unintended consequence.

This was an outgrowth of The Broward Promise, a local policy initiative that was picked up by Obama and Holder and taken national. It’s a disaster through and through, and Trump’s people have stopped it Federally. It arguably led directly to the Parkland shootings, and likely allowed Trayvon Martin to be on the loose to allow his deadly encounter with George Zimmerman.

The Promise was a formal policy by Broward Sheriff Scott Israel and the Broward School Board and Superintendent Runcie. It’s a typical disaster of wrong-headed Leftist policy that ignores human nature and caters to identity politics - so of course Obama took it national.

“..because they were fearful of going to class and being next to or being in the hallways with these violent perpetrators who should, by all rights,(be in prison!) be suspended or expelled.”

Fixed it.

My kindergarten teacher had a ruler we were all quite respectful of.

Discipline, and lack thereof, is a disaster in our schools.
