Gov. Gavin Newsom is putting a moratorium on the death penalty in California, sparing the lives of more than 700 death-row inmates.
Newsom plans to sign an executive order Wednesday morning granting reprieves to all 737 Californians awaiting executions – a quarter of the country’s death row inmates.
His action comes three years after California voters rejected an initiative to end the death penalty, instead passing a measure to speed up executions.
Newsom says the death penalty system has discriminated against mentally ill defendants and people of color. It has not made the state safer and has wasted billions of taxpayer dollars, according to prepared remarks Newsom plans to deliver Wednesday morning when he signs the order.

Well, there is one good thing about it, maybe. Does this mean that the lawyers can’t keep asking for a court date to postpone the death? They will be out of work since they won’t be executed.
I’m not a lawyer so I probably don’t know what I’m posting about the laws. lol

Trump CANNOT sign an Executive Order to stop the invasion which includes lots of murderers.
But Newsom CAN sign an Executive Order to end execution of murderers.

I am not a lawyer. I did take a masters level class on the death penalty at a major university (if I told you where you would know it). It was taught by a lawyer who was completely anti-death penalty, and the glee in his face about lecturing about all the ways lawyers and activists have been able to neuter the death penalty before their co-conspiracist judges was sickening.
Liberals hate the death penalty, but love abortion.
It is true that they defend the guilty, but slaughter the innocent.
That right there should tell us that what is really going on here is a spiritual war. Satan has these liberals as puppets on a string, doing his horrific bidding.
One of the things that stood out the most was the contempt the anti-death penalty fiends have for the victims, and especially the families of victims. They see them as the "Enemy", because their suffering might (just might) elicit sympathy and a call for justice to the guilty. And that they cannot abide.
Newsom would reverse course if criminals were bombing abortion clinics.
