The pilots were unable to control the planes. We know that much. Boing is apparently blaming a lack of proper training.

The planes should be grounded until Boing can explain why it happened and how it can be prevented in the future.

In the interim, if it’s Boing, I ain’t going.

POTUS speaks in broad strokes, and is directionally accurate, regardless of how the latest disaster investigation plays out. He is absolutely right that planes are more and more automated, and that pilots are less and less trained to do hand flying. That has been a trend for the last few decades, and it's going to bite us in the butt. Watch "Air Disasters" on the Smithsonian channel for more color. The cause is always partly pilot error, because their "thousands of hours" of flying time is mostly on auto pilot.

We know why the first one went down. Whether this one had the same problem or - ANOTHER ONE - is pretty irrelevant. This plane is looking like its gonna need some major re-engineering (at least).

My point above was valid before any of the Boeing Max accidents.

We already have a GOOD idea what happened on Lion flt JT310, a 737 Max, last year.

CVR and DFDR both recovered. Incident A/C had an issue the day before, flight crew worked through the issue.

Circumstances look to parallel THAT which happened with the ET crash.

Because a 3rd group of passengers slammed to the ground in a fiery explosion would not bother you at all. Would it?

Trump has this 100% right. No matter what caused this crash. His statement is common sense for anyone who has a clue.
