As New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez continues to galvanize the left (and frustrate the right), what’s driving her unique appeal has become an increasingly compelling question. Is it her identity or her substantive politics? Or both?
Ocasio-Cortez's embrace of democratic socialism has been emphasized by the right, which seeks to paint her as out of touch with mainstream American values. But arguably, it's her progressive ideals that provide the basis for a human-centered politics that connect with a majority of Americans.
The Intercept's Senior Politics Editor Briahna Gray will talk to Ocasio-Cortez about identity, the race/class divide, and how these factors are likely to play out in the years ahead.

AOC, as we all know, is a blithering idiot, but everyone really needs to watch this video! Hearing her say the most patently ridiculous garbage is very different from just reading it. And the people in the audience are even more frightening than she is, because they're eating it all up!
The people who ask her questions, at the end of her segment are braindead/brainwashed and obviously very easily led and have heard these same moronic sound bites from their indoctrination teachers in the schools they sat in and learned nothing in.
The Swedish woman, who is aghast that the people whom she works with, in a diner, don't unionize and demand higher wages; yes higher wages for a minimum wage job! And obviously this brainless female knows NOTHING at all about the history of unions in America and WHY, for the most part, unions are less favored here now, than ever before. Of course there are exceptions and these "exceptions" are unions which we all would gladly see the end of!
There is a probably now forgotten by most, but a once very famous play called R.U.R., which was written in 1920 by a Czech playwrite. It premiered in 1921 and has been done all over the world, in the 20th century and has been performed on the stage, on the radio, in film, and bits of it used in the original STAR TREK, DOCTOR WHO, and many other shows and books.
I suggest that everyone looks it up and read the plot.
