Generation Z has a more positive view of the word "socialism" than previous generations, and — along with millennials — are more likely to embrace socialistic policies and principles than past generations, according to a new Harris Poll given exclusively to Axios.
Why it matters: The word "socialism" does not carry the same stigma it did in the past, now that it has been resurrected by celebrity politicians like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Young people's political views often change as they grow older, but their support for socialistic policies is a sign that the old rules of politics are changing fast.
Gen Z and millennials are projected to make up 37% of the electorate in 2020, and what they're looking for in a presidential candidate is shifting.

They will grasp at any fake straw to give them a sense of moral rightness and being good, not realizing that they are just being mislead.

It is not just Generation Z, I talked to someone recently who is in their late 30s, and he could not believe that practicing christians were persecuted in the iron curtain countries. The ignorance is astounding.
Like most immature kids, there opinions will change over time. In 20 years, we’ll have a huge population of firebrand conservatives. Watch!
Many probably grew up being told how amazing they were and getting trophies and awards for everything they did. They feel they’ve earned a hefty starting salary with all the perks. They expect the government to make that happen.

Might have something to do with the fact that most educators are libs. And, with school systems driving out the veteran teachers to save money, their infant replacements are certainly more lib.

Nobody is home raising the kids, so there is no cultural transference there, and American public education quit teaching American history, or if it does, it is teaching anti-American history.

I used to believe that. Now I know too many socialists in their early 30s with high paying jobs and paying high taxes that have not changed their views.
There is a generation coming up behind that that is pretty libertarian.
