Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) suggested during a talk on Saturday that America is "garbage" and that former President Ronald Reagan presented a "racist" vision of the country that "pitted" white working class people against minorities in order "to screw over all working-class Americans."
Ocasio-Cortez made the remarks while speaking at the left-leaning South by Southwest Conference & Festivals in Austin, Texas.
"One perfect example, I think a perfect example of how special interests and the powerful have pitted white working-class Americans against brown and black working-class Americans in order to just screw over all working-class Americans, is Reaganism in the '80s when he started talking about welfare queens," Ocaiso-Cortez said. "So you think about this image of welfare queens and what he was really trying to talk about was ... this like really resentful vision of essentially black women who were doing nothing that were 'sucks' on our country."
"And it's this whole tragedy of the commons type of thinking where it's like because these one, this one specific group of people, that you are already kind of subconsciously primed to resent, you give them a different reason that's not explicit racism but still rooted in a racist caricature," Ocasio-Cortez continued. "It gives people a logical reason, a 'logical' reason to say, 'oh yeah, no, toss out the whole social safety net.'"

I was going to say, she has the intelligence of a house plant and the personality of a dial tone.
I didn’t want to upset our dog owner’s.
There’s the door, hon. Use it.
; )
From wikipedia:
“’Welfare queen’ is a derogatory term used in the United States to refer to women who allegedly misuse or collect excessive welfare payments through fraud, child endangerment, or manipulation. Reporting on welfare fraud began during the early 1960s, appearing in general-interest magazines such as Readers Digest. The term ‘welfare queen’ originates from media reporting in 1974.”
It comes from an entitlement system that encourages young minority women to pursue a livelihood by having children out of wedlock. This Democrat-created system has destroyed black families in ways second only to American slavery in its destructiveness.
And many of us have been in line at the grocery checkout at some point in which a well-dressed woman of color with poorly dressed children pays for groceries we can’t afford using food stamps or the equivalent. This does not mean every black woman who receives government subsidies is abusing them, but there is a stereotype for a reason. I’ve seen white and other ethnic women who also appeared to be “welfare queens.”
Leftists are obsessed with identity politics in which identity is always about gender, race, sexual proclivities, and nationality (when it suits their purpose). Conservatives generally are not all that concerned with these as they are non-issues when compared with actual behavior and the way it reflects character.
What in the Hell did she just say????
It is like she is just saying a bunch of jargon trying to sound smart.
Milliberals (Millennial Liberals) resort to this all of the time. They sound like a bad Junior High debate team.
I guess being fed a diet of rap music and slam poetry does this to one's linguistic capability.
Honestly, I could put together a better extemporaneous political statement when I was in high school than AOC can do at almost age 30.
It represents a staggering ignorance brought about by a staggering arrogance: a fervent belief she knows it all, and what she knows is incontrovertibly right.
Ilhan Omar does the exact same thing.
AOC and Ilhan Omar both think they are always the smartest person in the room.
This is why. After watching this it will all make sense.

“Yeah, she has an economics degree, but who were her professors? The underwear gnomes?!?”
They were academics. “The keepers of pure knowledge” Pure because it is untainted by any real world experience.
If she keeps turning out rediculous crap like this, her fame will die fast and she will become the ‘Bernie Sanders’ of the House of Representatives. She took herself down a few pegs while picking on Reagan.
This is a darn good video “The Brains Behind AoC”. I listened for a full 15 minutes before it got repetitive.
Every FReeper deserves to hear this guy.
Must be fact I’ve more time on my hands as it took 22+ minutes before this was switched off. The strategy presented is certainly new, but feasible. Agree that the names of the troupe are such that the pronunciation is a challenge. Noticed this myself, attempting to understand why names such as Bob, Jack, Dick, Sue were absent in this program. That the USA can be so easily taken down from within is not such a far fetched idea. When younger, we watched TV shows with the same plots and ideas. We then found ourselves unable to peacefully sleep that night.
Thanks PP, the fog begins to clear.
Bkmrk.
GFY sounds like an excuse to me.
Uygur was raised in a secular Muslim household, but became more religious during college before becoming agnostic.
He graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1992, where he majored in management[9] and was on the Student Activities Council representing the Turkish Students Association. He then received a Juris Doctor degree from Columbia Law School and worked as an associate attorney at law firms in DC and NYC.
When you are not born into American customs, you miss certain things in your education. You don't have American veterans in your larger family. And there are many things missing in teaching American attitudes and an appreciation for individual rights and responsibilities.
Also, our education system rewards diverrrrrrrsity. It's gone off the deep end. Yes, we should respect other cultures, but not idolize them. Young people are highly impressionable. Look at the ones born in the West who joined ISIS.
It's one reason why TurningPoint US is a great organization. I treasure Charlie Kirk and Candace Owens.
This video should be posted to EVERY Cortez thread on FR...along with high-view threads like the Daily Trump Train...
Will do!
