One of the fundamental differences between liberals and conservatives is how both view the Constitution. Conservatives believe that adhering to constitutional principles. if not the letter and spirit of the document, should be the guiding force of government. Liberals, on the other hand, see the Constitution as an impediment - something to be gotten around.
Keep that difference in mind when you hear what former Attorney General Eric Holder had to say about the Supreme Court.
Former Attorney General Eric Holder said Thursday that the next Democratic president should “seriously” consider adding additional seats to the United States Supreme Court should they be elected alongside a Democratic majority in the Senate.
The comments came during a discussion Holder held with the Yale Law National Security Group. There was no recording of the event and only a snippet of what Holder said was tweeted out publicly. But a spokesman for Holder confirmed to The Daily Beast that he did embrace the idea of court-packing.
Why court packing? It's very simple, really. The Supreme Court refuses to ignore the Constitution in favor of approving a social justice agenda. And the best way to get around constitutional restrictions on government power is to create new liberal majority that will recognize that social justice issues supercede our founding document.
“In response to a question, Attorney General Holder said that given the unfairness, unprecedented obstruction, and disregard of historical precedent by Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans, when Democrats retake the majority they should consider expanding the Supreme Court to restore adherence to previously accepted norms for judicial nominations,” said spokesman Patrick Rodenbush.
Shouldn't the word "Constitution" be in there somewhere? I think it telling that it isn't.

the hypothesis should be tested
It really becomes impossible for normiecons to not see what this is all about.
The writs of the Supreme Court are holy, even the 5-4 ones, veritable Talmud to the Constitution’s Torah. It’s almost treason to even question then, no, it’s almost treason to believe that what they have decreed today was not the case yesterday, and every day back to 1788. Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia. Transexuals have always read stories to children in libraries.
We fight election after election to acquire this magic power, so we can stop the bleeding and save something of our Republic. We are disappointed again and again. FINALLY, there exists the possibility of some 5-4 going our way, after decades of false law and decisions concocted out of nothing but Leftist wet dreams.
We haven’t even gotten there yet. Roberts is “growing in office”. When it comes time to confirm RBG’s replacement, it’s easy to believe that the necessary five GOP Senators can be found to vote “no”.
But, there’s a chance.
Even the existence of a chance is enough for the Left to threaten to overturn the table and start shooting. It’s not even a very good chance.
THAT is how important the dictatorial power of a Leftist Supreme Court has been to them since 1937.
Yes, but I believe there are AT LEAST five GOP Senators willing to vote "no" on any RBG replacement who will "upset the balance".
I believe the Bolshies are looking at the 60 million that voted for Bolshekrats in ‘18. What happened to the other 2.5 million that voted for Hitlery and what happened to the other 10 million that voted for Trump?
Wonder how many Dems in Congress have even seen our constitution much less read it the only thing THAT matters to the Dems is power and and hate hell if we shipped ever one of them to Russia they would start the same mess there
Yes, let’s pack the court with minority racists like Holder. /sarc
The Democrats could try that if Trump is re-elected, but they would have to control the Senate to get it through Congress, and President Trump would be able to veto it. It's very unlikely that the Democrats plus Never-Trumper Republicans would have two-thirds of both houses of Contress.
Franklin D. Roosevelt threatened Congress with this same thing when Congress would not give in to his wishes. They caved and we got the worst depression ever seen. Actually, I was surprised that Obama did not try packing the court during his first two years. Time for the right to rise up.
