President Donald Trump's former longtime attorney and fixer Michael Cohen on Thursday filed a lawsuit against the Trump Organization, claiming his former company has failed to pay "fees and costs" related in part to special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe.

Cohen argues in New York state Supreme Court that the Trump Organization, where Cohen worked for roughly a decade as an executive vice president and special counsel to Trump, had a "contractual agreement" to compensate Cohen and "to pay attorneys' fees and costs" incurred through his work "with and on behalf of" company officials.

He should be suing Mueller, not Trump.

There’s adding insult to injury. Making Trump pay for the mueller probe. All I can do is laugh anymore, otherwise their insanity would kill me.

He should’ve thought about all of that before he got married and had kids. However, he’d be just as desperate if he didn’t have a wife and kids.

LOL - Trump can argue that those fees would not have been there if he had not chosen to lie to the FBI when he did not need to, and was not asked to by Trump.

It would appear that Mr. Cohen has failed to adequately provide the contracted services, so take a hike.

So Cohen is suing Trump to pay for the legal costs of Cohen smearing Trump?

His own lawyer Lanny Davis had said he sought a pardon via other lawyers. We can add saying otherwise to Cohen’s lies before congress.

This guy has some nerve. Trump makes a bad call on occasion and this guy should never have been on board. Shyster to the bone.

Cohen is another sleaze lawyer like Michael Avenatti. I wonder how Trump failed to recognize what he was? Then I thought of Abraham Lincoln’s words, “You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”

When I heard of Cohen surrendering to the FBI, I wondered if he would bend the truth about Trump in order to get favorable treatment; like suspects do in a plead deal. I wonder if those who get that information do a fact check. Or, is the FBI willing to use anything he gives that is dirt on Trump?

He also appears to be suing for legal fees he incurred defending against bank and tax fraud charges that were so strong he chose to plead guilty even before he was indicted. I doubt that he informed Mr. Trump and the Trump Organization that he was up to his eyeballs in those crimes while he was working for them, lest he be fired immediately. Thus, he retained his status while concealing a material fact regarding their relationship, meaning he lost his right to any fees he’d otherwise be entitled to.

Given that his guilty pleas were for things he did on his own, I hardly see how his employer could be liable for those expenses.

And I’m pretty sure that when a lawyer signs a contract for a service, if that lawyer ends up committing criminal acts as part of that service, they can’t later make the client pay their attorney fees when they get caught.
