The House Democratic Caucus is in a knot over Ilhan Omar and the possible resolution condemning anti-Semitism that she elicited. The original draft resolution was a joke to begin with; it is already ancient history. The vapid substitute resolution condemning hate in all the manifest forms recognized by identity politics is struggling to be born. The caucus is resolved to be unresolved for the time being.
Something reeks in the Democratic Party. Politico takes us inside the caucus meeting today in this story. It was tension city. Steve might invite us to pass the popcorn and contemplate the internal strife among our opponents. In this case, however, there is nothing amusing about it

Wouldn’t be prudent
If this changes 10 percent of Jewish votes from D to R in places like FL, it will be a big deal.
To all Jewish folks: Dems HATE YOU!!
Almost as much as they hate MAGA folks. Maybe more!
But at least we vote in a way that gives them a reason to hate us.
You vote WITH THEM and they still hate you!!
Stop!!!
What an ugly s*itshow. Not a peep on MSM evening news BTW.
Im actually getting tired of eating popcorn.
To all Jewish folks: Dems HATE YOU!!
Needs repeating.

Only deplorables are racist
Omar, after returning from her trip to East Africa, has begun making amends with Jewish lawmakers, including Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.).
I do not believe that Ilhan Omar is anti-Semitic, Schakowsky said. I absolutely believe that she has become, as a result, a target. I think the Republicans love that, and frankly, I think the media loves to exploit the divisions.
Schakowsky said the personal attacks against Omar have become so extreme that there are conversations about giving Omar a security detail in the U.S. Capitol.
Another step closer to Nazis
My voice will get raw!
My working class Jewish friends in Brooklyn vote R.
Might not all be conservatives but most Rs aren’t these days.
All voted Trump.
But it’s not working class that makes them vote R because my Jewish work acquaintances in Manhattan were making working class money and they were virulently liberal.
But they were ALL college grads or higher at work.
Not so with my Brooklyn friends.
I would guess Jewish folks, being very education oriented, which is a very good thing, go on to higher education in much higher numbers than most groups.
That may explain the 70/30 vote for dems vs. republicans.
Who thought education might one day be a detrimental thing?
I do not believe that Ilhan Omar is anti-Semitic, Schakowsky said. I absolutely believe that she has become, as a result, a target. I think the Republicans love that, and frankly, I think the media loves to exploit the divisions.
My German is very rusty, but Ill bet that an enterprising person can find a amazingly similar quote in a 1920s edition of a Berlin newspaper.
Tell the Somalis to knock it off.
What are they going to do?
Vote Republican?
So this Jewish person is willing to defend her against US, who really would come to the aid of Jewish folks, if they were attacked.
Makes sense.
Schakowsky said the personal attacks against Omar have become so extreme that there are conversations about giving Omar a security detail in the U.S. Capitol.
For her or for everyone else. This is a serious question.
Remember when the Dims said OOOOH theres division in the Republican Party.
Aint that a bitch.
What’s their major malfunction?
1) They don’t have to do anything. But this will be a tacit approval of Omar’s comments and signal to the caucus that their back-benchers are free to roam around damaging the Democratic brand and pushing their Jewish supporters away by making them feel 3/5th members of the party. The Jewish community should be offended by this.
2) They can condemn anti-Semitism including either naming Omar, or citing specific language condemning comments that suggest Jewish Americans are not equal parts of American society as all other Americans.
3) They can issue some insipid nonsensical resolution condemning “all forms of racism” which is just an absurdity in every respect, all around. Of course we condemn racism. The fact that they have to say it is clearly suggestive that they are, in fact, infiltrated by racists.
Nancy is making a mistake if she does #1 or #3. And if she does #2 she still has problems. She has an out of control caucus, a party with like a dozen people actively accused of racism, rape and corruption, and unless she acts decidedly and correctly it will stain her party through the 2020 elections.
I am at my local working man’s pub as I type, and one the AA regulars — a registered Rat — just stated for the third time this week that “Trump ain’t done nothing to hurt me.” A lot of “Amens” and “you got that right, dog.”
Don’t forget that Veep Joe Biden told Israel that it better get used to the idea of a nuke-armed Iran. Then the administration helped arm Iran. The Dems hate the Jewish people and will not defend their very existence.
Democrat party can’t even cleanly vote to condemn jew hate.
Amen brother!
Half of Hollywood is Jewish, but they’ll stick up for Ilhan, just like they stick up for Sarsour. And if they don’t vote democrat, they’ll vote socialist. No matter what.
